I am having the same issue, the most infuriating part is that you cannot even get the speaker icon, nothing that tells you that your voice or any sound you articulate is being recorded or not.Originally Posted by Surfer2000_ Go to original post
That way, we would assume it's the mic but when you are not even given the possibility to record, as in detect, a sound, it makes me much more inclined to believe it's an issue from within the game.
Would be nice to get more clarity from Ubisoft instead of them just blaming the microphone by default...
(sorry for the other message I meant to reply in here)
Hello everyone,
I would like to direct your attentions to this thread regarding the availability of the in-game IBM Watson voice recognition beta service. After extending the availability of the IBM Watson powered voice recognition feature in Star Trek: Bridge Crew for over a year, this beta feature has now been discontinued.
Remember that you can still issue orders to your NPC crew via the menu-based commands.
I sincerely apologise for any confusion or disappointment caused by this announcement.
Hello dear Ubisoft Support.
I am on an Oculus 2 and also the mic does not work standards. I tried all the trouble-shooting steps and it still does not work.
However, thanks to searching a bit on the web i found a workaround. I got the game in steam and am working with oculus link (rift).
I start sounds on windows and then i start the game. When the game is running and i come to the mic check i switch to desktop and "deactivate" the oculus virtual microphone. Then i stop cancel the mic check in game. Then i start the mic check again. Then i switch again to desktop and "Activate" the oculus virtual microphone.
From then on i can actually use the microphone in game, however, also the voice commands are not working. Have they truly been removed?
Unfortunately i have to do this every single time i start the game, which makes it bloody awkward. I would really appreciate it if you could work with Oculus here in order to get this running smoothly. I have found that you're not the only game that has issues with the mic on the oculus 2, so it's probably not only in your corner.
Sincerly.
René
Can we get some kind of update regarding the game breaking bugs on the oculus 2 version?Originally Posted by Ubi-Swaggins Go to original post
Hey Charrels123,
Are you referring to the issues listed in this thread or are you referring to something else?
If you are referring to something else, I would ask that you make a thread or comment on another active thread about the issue you are experiencing.
That way, we can keep the information relevant to each thread.
Hi,
I play on the Quest. I'm trying to set up a custom lobby and it requires a mic check to access the lobby. My voice won't register. My mic works. I've talked to friends in a party and in other games right up until jumping into Star Trek. Any idea what could be wrong ? Thanks
1. Start Bridge Crew
2. Start Test Microphone / MP Lobby
3. Deactivate Microphone in Windows Sound Settings
4. Stop Test Microphone / MP Lobby
5. Reactivate Microphone in Windows Sound Settings
6. Start Test Microphone / MP Lobby again

Thanks for sharing that workaround within the thread, DoctorWhyNot!
Earthbul - Can you let us know which platform you use? It sounds like you're playing on PS4, as you mention playing other games in a party. If so, I'd recommend checking out the workaround shared in this thread.
Thanks!
