Here my question.
So bashes have never had an actual counter to it, all you could do was dodge and this was a general rule. That is, until Bp came out. He's the only hero in the game that can counter a bash. This in my opinion does not break him or the game and fits well into his identity.
So why would Orochi being the only assassin able to deflect an unblockable break the game?
It would give him a very unique trait on top of fitting well within his identity of being a counter attacker.
On a side, The heavy deflect should also be able to execute.
Orochi deflect is easiest, safest and most damaging of all the assassins- yes excluding shinobi i explain why.
1) Shinobi must have designated deflect, you can dodge --> side spin and time it to deflect as orochi. This means that assuming your not hit by a CC or another HA attack you will always ignore their hit as it has i-frames. Although it can be blocked on fail or dodged on success in a 1v1 they cant punish you for it.
This means orochi can not be kitted for his deflect. This means an orochi will generally never hit- they will top heavy into a fient, into a flinch deflect heavy. As opposed to all assassins which will get light parried and loose all their stamina.
All other assassins have GB vulnerability between their deflect and dodge, unlike orochi if you do it to the side. This means you land orochi's deflect a lot more then you would all the other assassins as your enemy cant know what you intend to do.
None of that is actually frame correct, and btw having input similar to deflect for the side dodge makes parrying his side dodges even easier.Originally Posted by ballon009 Go to original post
It is my opinion tho that parrying an orochi's dodge attack is easier tho than gbing one regardless.
Shinobi is easily the easiest to perform deflect because it operates automatically and he can dbl dodge.
As an answer to earlier Amon comment on what BWC counters in terms of deflects
Works on orochi,
Works on Nuxia
I think it might work on shaolin,
I don't have any idea if it works on peacekeeper or shaman.
I hope they will do so.Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
Another thin I notice and that make a little safer to parry is that you still have time to feint.
I'm now practicing nonstop against Hitokiri because for some reason I cannot deflect any attack, I'm not used to or something (bad idea as she has hyperarmor)
The interesting thing is that I'm more able to parry her, but even if I miss the parry, I still have time to feint it and do it again to parry correctly. All during the same attack that she is making.
But if I dodge I will always take the second attack or the charged one if a fail to deflect.
So maybe would be better if orochi could feint the dodge.
I personally think this would be weird, but as deflecting Unblockables wasn't very popular maybe this would be a good solution. Making deflect a little safer for orochi, then giving him a reason to deflect over parrie (I personally they will just stand at the same level of viability).
No, the heavies are fine my main problem are the lights. I think I'm not use at all to the animation, but something make me uneble to deflect them. I will still practicing.Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
But I noticed that with the timed heavies you can try a parry and if you guessed wrong , you can still feint the heavy and parry again on time to parry the charged hitokiri heavy.
If you try a dodge you are toasted because you will eat it at the end or with the next attack, so for these reason a possibility to cancel the dodge move.
This way you make deflect more viable and not always a dead end if you take the bait or you faile the timing always (as for parry you have an opportunity to save the situation)
