I got it free so no refund. I do believe they owe me something for time wasted though. I won't get it...and you probably won't get it either. I hope you do though; good luck.
I'm running on a 5700XT and 3700X system, 16 GB ram. I think I'd accept it being something funky about 5700's except, funny thing, it's solidly stable with other triple-A titles. Why would only this one be so crashy? and across so many driver updates and releases?
What's the only common thing?
First, my specs (It ain't exciting, by the way):
AMD Aorus Motherboard
16GB system ram
4 Western Digital 500GB SSDs (one for O/s, one for music, and 2 for gaming/applications)
50'' LED Monitor 120hz
8GB powerColor Radeon 580RX GPU
Assorted Razr peripherals
Windows 10 Home edition
Suffered through the nearly 3 month wait for a fix like y'all. Pissed me off royally. However, I'd like to report the following:
Patch downloaded earlier this afternoon (1-28-20). Patch installed. Booted game. WAS able to finally complete the Eye for an A.I. mission, able to take helicopter to 1200 feet with no problem into the mission area. Didn't have to verify files, nor re-install U-Play, and game is working like expected now. My Radeon has the most recent edition of the Adrenaline software installed.
Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon. I was able to play for 2 hours with no glitches nor any shutdowns. I don't Overclock my GPU, since I am not that technically savvy at doing so, and can't afford to get the top of the line graphics card like some...that, and since I'm no techie, I don't want to fry my graphics card or motherboard. it runs GR:BP rather well on a combo of high and ultra settings on my mediocre rig.
A further update....Since the new patch, I've been able to complete the "An Eye for an A.I." mission in the Silent Mountain region. I just finished the Paula Madeira mission with no problems as well. Able to fly the chopper above 900 feet through the fog and snowstorms in that area where you destroy the two servers. No shutdowns, stayed connected online throughout both missions. Still crossing my fingers, but so far, so good for me. :3
Just curious, did you try to reinstall uplay?Originally Posted by John.Bigboote Go to original post
Yes he did "Tried the Uplay reinstall fix, tried the game reinstall, tried file verification always a crash ." Last sentence first paragraph.Originally Posted by VashdaNarata Go to original post

The nuclear option. Sorry to hear this, man. Just so you know, I appreciate the effort you've put in to keep the pressure on.Originally Posted by John.Bigboote Go to original post
Brother I'm so sorry that you are still having this problem.
I got fortunate and I think this patch finally fixed the crash bug for me. I flew around the Silent Mountain in heli for 10 mins, climbed up the mountain on foot for 10 mins, then I fought enemies up in the mountains for over an hour without any crashes to the desktop.
Now for your problem... First let me share with you my system info.

Different CPU and RAM from yours but not sure that'll be the deal breaking factors but since we both use the same graphic card (RX 5700 XT) and driver version (20.1.4), it could be possible that your AMD settings might be messing with the performance. I've been reading a lot on AMD support forums and they say the graphic driver still isn't stable for some people and it causes multiple issues on many games. Because of that I don't trust AMD tuning any of my graphic settings so I disabled anything AMD related features (FreeSync, Chill, Image Shaperning, none of that) for both Global and individual games.
Here are the settings I have for Breakpoint and same for Global as well I think.

That's all I could think for now. I'm not suprised if Ubisoft ****** something up on their end again and your system could be perfectly fine but man we've all suffered long enough and I'd like to help out if I can. I wish you luck brother.
