Why does the Breach rework completely ignore the most unfair phase?

The last phase of breach is easily the worst aspect of breach. They could have left everything in breach alone and just tackled the final phase and breach would have been in a good spot. The last phase was in most desperate need of change. The commander is braindead on revenge activation. He takes way too much damage from feats. The zone where he gets instant revenge is poorly made, allowing attackers to easily push him far away from his resting position on most maps and abuse his broken AI. Healing the commander is 10x harder than damaging him.

I really wanted to see some fair play in the phase 3 but it doesn't look like its happening. It will remain a cheese fest indefinitely i suppose

Having a commander that needs to be killed to end the match is possibly the dumbest thing in this game. There seems very little way to make it both engaging and balanced. I think he should go and be replaced by an objective type.

What kind of objective would make it any different though? Each stage is basically just reducing the next health bar, whether it's a gate or commander.
