There are a lot of threads about the gear revamp (or Gear 2.0), and I notice a lot of the same incorrect claims being repeated in each. This thread is being created to list the most common ones, and provide evidence on the same.
Note: if you don't like the revamp, feel free to add your opinion to the dozens of other threads on the subject. The purpose of this thread is to list the statements on what is planned.

In addition, screenshots of tweets from Frederik Thylander will be used. If you want to find the original, dig it up yourself. He's already being inundated with questions, and I don't plan on adding to his load.
For completeness, official recaps:
SOTG #143, SOTG #144.
Note that the recaps only summarize key points, and often skip over or ignore details. They should not be relied on as the videos provide much greater detail and context.

Myth: the new loot system will be dumbed down
Per SOTG #143 17:36CEST "It's about the same amount of stats, there's a little fewer talents"
Per SOTG #144 17:07CEST 20 talents on the backpack + 20 on chest pieces (vs 48 talents across all gear currently). On top of that there are exotics and gearsets.
[edit] Be careful when comparing # of talent combinations. The current system includes combinations that are incompatible due to their requirements - e.g. Wicked and Creeping Death, Bloodsucker and Clutch, Cloaked and On The Ropes.
Imagine wasting your only recalibration on a mod slot.Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
Better off just making mod slots just "mod slot", no specific attribute necessary. Or, make attribute recalibration and mod slot recalibration two separate conditions.
Well, you might want to do that for GS500 gear - i.e. when all rolls are maxed.Originally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
I think agents will potentially be less powerful then prior. I hope they adjust all npc armor and health for all content. Beside Brooklyn 2 missions and eventually the 2nd raid, yr 2 will be paid dlcs most likely. Depending on how the changes play out yr2 DLC purchases may not meet expectations.
Your use of tweets all presumes the updates are popular and without a hitch. And going on history we all know this will not be the case. And with little "new content" not in paid DLC yes it will most likely be refarming the same crap.
