    Weapons and Upgrades?

    Hello,

I just started to play a week ago. And I have some questions about the weapons and upgrades:

How many weapon upgrades are possible? Unlimited? If unlimited, how many upgrades are necessary e.g. for the master handgun (P08) to kill an elite highwayman with one single shot?

Are there enough materials in the world to craft every single weapon? Because I skipped crafting level 2 and 3 weapons and just crafted some elite weapons so far. And now I noticed, that there are still 1000 challenges to complete with the other weapons ...

    Greetings

You theoretically can upgrade the weapons unlimited.
But if you have 100% progress and upgrade the weapons, you will get lags, caused by the autosave, that get worse the more you upgrade.
I know what i'm saying, believe me.
I made the 100% and thought "great, opponents are still there and willing to fight, and i can repeat all expeditions and free outposts.... let's level up the weapons".
And i started to do that.
For example, my compound bow is leveled up 780 times, to be able to shoot mutant animals (and also the red elite highwaymen) with one normal arrow (to get 2 skins from the dead animal), even if i shoot them into the a s s.
BUT the game is unplayable now.
Everytime the autosave is active, the game, except of the sound, freezes for at least a second, where you can do nothing.
And the game autosaves a lot!
Ubisoft is aware of that, but decided to leave it as it is.
I did use the compound bow as my preferred weapon and it's really no fun, when you get attacked by 4 boars, shoot at them with the bow and because the area where that happens is small, you immediately collect the shooted arrow again.
And because the game autosaves everytime when you collect an arrow, it saves permanently in such situations and you can just watch how you get killed by the boars, because you can not control your avatar anymore.

To answer your question about the P08, i can definitly say that 220 times leveled up is enough to kill the red elite highwayman with 1 shot and "normal" ammunition, no explosive ammunition.
But i can not say what the minimum number of uplevels was, to be able to do that.

Thank you! Sounds strange. I am not a great fan of the idea of unlimited weapon upgrades. Turns the game into some instagib arena. It also feels wrong, to be able to level up a handgun to assault rifle damage. I know, the game is not realistic at all, but the shoul be some logic, should be consistent in itself.
