Sequel to Wildlands or Sequel to The Division?

Why on earth would Ubisoft turn one of my favorite single player/co-op franchises into an MMO? This game feels like a reskin of the Division and not a Ghost Recon game at all. Why on earth would there be a ridiculous store inside of a cave? Why do I see stupid online handles floating on peoples heads when I'm not playing in multiplayer mode? Why can't I modify my gear like I could in Wildlands instead of this garbage system that doesn't even let me change the pattern on a pair of pants? This game should have the same single player/co-op feel as wildlands with Ghost War and any other PVP crap in it's own separate tab.

With the MMO gripes out of the way, on to the animations and graphics. Let me start by saying Wildlands was beautiful, immersive, and movement felt natural. This game feels like 50 steps backwards from where it was with Wildlands. Vehicles are static while driving offroad. Player movement is blocky and static feeling and just feels half assed. The environments look like they were optimised for an MMO and as such the graphics look terrible. Please just look at how it was done in wildlands and expand upon that. A sequel should never take a step back or turn a single player/co-op/online (all separated parts of the same game) into a blocky MMO that looks like it was cobbled together in an afternoon. This game is not a sequel to Wildlands right now. In fact, the Dev team obviously never played Wildlands because there is no way in hell they would associate this title with Ghost Recon. Send all the devs that worked on this game back to The Division's dev team and rehire the people that made Wildlands. As it stands right now, I will never buy another Ghost Recon game again. If you guys can fix this game and make it into a worthy sequel that builds on the realism and feel of wildlands you can win me back but to be honest, I don't think the greedy people that made this game into the mess it is now have any intention of correcting this massive miscalculation. Stop shoehorning The Division into Ghost Recon if you want it to be a success.

What do you mean you can't change the color on the pants?
As to animations, I have to disagree with you, Nomad now raises his gun into a low ready position when he hears that there is enemies nearby, he leans in to shoot the gun instead of walking like he was normally walking, while our AI companions did all this, leaned in, bend their knees.
When you use gloves with long sleeves, the gloves remain normal, instead of bloated (Like several gloves did on wildlands)
Clothes are better modeled against his body, feel like actual clothes instead of plastic pieces on an action figure. (Granted that the textures make it feel so they are plastic)
But I agree with the observations regarding the MMO

You cant change colors for some gear. Eg Nomad pants...

    Animations are incredibly bad.
Yes some new additions are really really nice, but the problem is the chatacter feels like skating on ice constantly. Its not natural looking at all. Considering how beautiful animations in Ubi titles used to be this is garbage work...

    Oh yeah, the signature gear...
As to the looking like skating in ice.
Well it does look like it specially when you are walking crouched and slowly.
He barely walks but his feet are moving really fast.
But I really like the ones I mentioned.
I actually felt envious of our teammates AI, because when they are coming down a hill, they have a better animation, they often turn sideways, to avoid slipping, they sometimes hop a little.
Things that are in game now with Nomad.
When in a firefight, our teammates AI would bend the knee and lean forward.
The way Nomad does it now.
So Yeah, there are some animations that are bad, specially the ones that were changed because people complained about, so they are either incomplete or speed up.

I believe the veterans will call me traitor, but I think that ubisoft would do a great job if they asked either Garand thumb, milspec mojo, Lucas Botkin or the folks from kagwerks to do the mocap for the weapons manipulation and movement while using the weapon.
But the way nomad behaves while walking on the environment, water, hills and etc...that, I wouldn't mess with.

Absolutely agree with main post. I must admit I quit Breakpoint months ago after doing main questline and alle sidequests I could find.
I only Ubisoft had not named the game Ghost Recon, everything would be fine. They could have called it Division: Breakpoint, and no one would have complained, and no one would have cared. But to soil a solid franchise by putting the Ghost Recon stamp of approval on this game is an insult to Ghost Recon fans.

This game would have done a lot better if it had been sold/marketed as a more tactical DIVISION spin-off then a sequel to Wildlands. They could have called it THE DIVISION -- Operation Breakpoint. Make it about a small group pf Division agents sent to deal with a rogue high tech corporation operating outside US law. In that game the idea of a tiered loot system would have worked. Bugs aside and there are many, the game itself isn't that bad for a looter shooter its bad because its being sold as a Ghost Recon game when its not.

If Ubisoft has released a proper sequel to WIldlands and then also released DIVISIOn 2 along with this one and marketed 2019 as teh Year of Tom Clancy they would have done far better and very likely would not have had to revise downward their profit projections as they did. GR Breakpoint wasn't simply a poorly released game it was a huge back-step for Ubisoft as a whole. Its important to keep saying that this is all less the fault of the devs/studios that built the game then the heaad(s) at Ubisoft that told Ubisoft Paris they had to add a Division like tiered loot system into their game so Ubisoft could more easily sell micro-transactions beyond their popular time savers.

I can easily see the staff at Ubnisoft Paris protesting this change to the game but being forced to do it because less game-wise experienced executives above them believed this was the way to make more money. Due to NDA's we may never know the real story behind it all but I for one hope that the person or persons that forced the good people at Ubsioft Paris to make these kinds of changes to the game were removed from their positions of decision making and an apology made to those at Ubisoft Paris who tried to say this was a bad idea. If we're lucky an investigative Journalist like Jason Schrier with Kotaku is already interviewing Ubisoft employees and getting the scoop just as he did when he exposed what happened with Anthem.

Agreed. I was looking to play this with my group of friends that LOVED Wildlands. We were looking forward to Wildlands 2, and are very disappointed that this is more like the Division. I was the only one to buy Breakpoint, and have only played for a few hours.

If I wanted to play the Division, I would have bought that game. Please revert this back to a Wildlands sequel and remove the gun leveling, bullet-sponge enemies, etc...

I would have loved Wildlands 2, just in a different setting/location. This hybrid is the worse possible outcome, as it's not as good as either Wildlands or the Division. I know Ubisoft continues to work and improve games after launch, so I hope they do the same with this one. I'm looking forward to playing it again if they fix it.

"Why on earth would Ubisoft turn one of my favorite single player/co-op franchises into an MMO? "

I agree - it's becoming more a PVP MMO than it was intended :/ I do NOT like the pvp stuff.. I hate pvp stuff in Ghost Recon!

And u get cool weapon skin/skins from Ghost Wars, if u aint a pvp guy, u wont get any cool stuff or cosmetics.
Same with Raids, what in the h3ll - caman Ubisoft!

Give Co-op/solo players some COOL stuff, content, missions and so on! Stop the pvp/raid mmo bs!

Co-op is what Ghost Recon is all about!!! NOT PVP and MMO Raids - go raid in wow or some other MMO game!
