Hello,
Just a quick note to Ubisoft to consider feedback. There does not seem to be a "Suggestions and Feedback" board for this game.
When this came out, I played it and found it just OK. Really loved FC5 and the Vietnam DLC. Even though many didn't like the FC5 story, I liked the game.
FCND just didn't grip me very hard. Love the female singer at Prosperity though.
A post-nuclear world has been done, and done very well, in Fallout 4. I give credit for trying, but this game just doesn't give me the feeling FO4 does.
But what really was the straw that broke the camels back and caused me to put this game down and forget it, was the stupid pit fight. I don't know who on the creative team thought it would be a good idea to make a main story mission be nothing but melee combat, but it was not a smart decision. Hand combat in Far Cry is not what the game is about. It really sucks. I mean really, really bad.
To have about 5 waves with many on one, when you can't really do any advanced dodge/roll type moves (you know, like in games that really try to be melee combat games?), It is just bad.
But, for what it is worth, I picked the game up today to give it another go, and still I feel this mission is a huge mistake but I got through it. I upgraded the perkl that said it makes punches stronger. That seemed to make me be able to swing a bat/stick 3 times in succession, instead of just one swing.
Also, for the boss, just avoid him as much as you can and try to catch him somewhat near the red barrel, and throw your stick at it. It will toss you on your can, but (at least not for me) it doesn't do you damage. If you do this twice, he loses that shield.
For me, the second time I ignited the barrel he was close enough that he lost his shield and also was tossed to the ground and disoriented. Even though I had no stick or bat, I walked up and just punched him until he was dead.
In hindsight, not an insurmountable mission. But boy does it take the absolute worst aspect of this game and make you have to eat it in order to progress the story.
OK, now that I've finished the entire main story and looked into this.... apparently this mission is supposed to be an "act 3" mission. So I was tackling this much earlier in the game than probably is supposed to happen. Not sure why the game showed the only main story marker on the map was this one, but it did.
