The Sad Truth About Year 4’s Two New Heroes (It will happen)

In year 4, we will get two new heroes. From what factions? Will there be a mix between factions? What about the light and darkness stuff? I think I see Lawbringer and Orochi from campaign! Who’s the new looking hero with the shield in the back? I think it’s two knights—iron legion and black stone legion, yay!

There answer is simple. Very simple. And it sucks.

We’re getting two new Wuliang heroes.

    Really. Think about it.
    - No, it’s not going to be two hybrids that mix factions. I swear, if they add a Knight + Viking hybrid or a Samurai + Wuliang hybrid I’m going to throw up. This will damage the game in all ways possible. Faction identity will be meaningless to the point where one could say it is non-existent. The soul of For Honor is made up of two things: combat system and the characters in combat. Take one away and this game is fked.
    - TRUST ME. It’s not going to be a knight, samurai, or viking. If the Devs even think about this idea, that leaves other factions out. TWO heroes. THINK. WHAT FACTION NEEDS TWO MORE HEROES TO HAVE THE SAME AS THE OTHERS? Yea yea, some people think it’s going to be a knight and a samurai. NO. How you gonna leave the Viking bros out.
    - Some people think it’s going to be characters that fit into the storyline of For Honor. You know. The campaign. That’s why their thinking samurai and knight. Or maybe even two knights. I would love two knights. BUT ITS NOT TWO KNIGHTS. Look in the teaser. There is a Wuliang hero in the background, to the right. It’s Tandyi. Since Tandyi is there, you know the Wulin are going to be part of year 4.
    - “What about the hero with the shield in the back that I never seen bef—“ SON, THAT’S A MINION. A. MINION. “I don’t think it’s a min—“ A. MINION.

Not giving the Wuliang the two new heroes will ruin Ubisoft’s attempt to fully incorporate them as a faction. They already got the breach guardian. They got a map. And sadly, VERY SADLY, the other factions really don’t need more heroes. I love the knights but who are they to get one more than another faction, or even two more. Remember, Ubisoft said they wanted to use year 4 to focus on balancing. Character balancing will ultimately lead to a balance between factions that their trying to achieve (so competition is fair). Adding heroes to any other faction besides the Wuliang will actually add more OBVIOUS IMBALANCE, EVEN IF THE HERO IS BALANCED THEMSELVES.

Now on about this light and darkness crap. Still two Wuling heroes. Yup. Probably a light and dark one who tf knows. But it’s definitely Wuliang. As an honorable member of the knight faction I am disgusted by it’s going to happen, so stop thinking otherwise. False hope = disappointed community = weak community that is falling apart. Please keep the For Honor community in tact, we know what’s going to happen, so don’t go quitting the game when you JUST FIND OUT we are getting two Wuliang heroes.

    - if it’s campaign related characters it’s still going to be two Wulang because Tandyi is in the teaser so the Wuling obviously exist in year 4 content. They probably put one Wulang in the teaser to throw us all off. All the Black Priors simply notes towards a storyline of some sort.

I can't see it, maybe, but I doubt they'll put both on Wu Lin, they aren't even a proper faction.

Also, in my opinion, they have the least badass looking character style out of all the other factions. I bought the marching fire expansion and have not even gotten one of the Wu Lin to rep 1 yet, I tried them all but their fighting style and appearance is my least favorite, too much dancing around.

I may be one of the few that dislike the faction, but no one I ever play with uses them either, their vanguard is pretty cool looking, but his fighting style... meh, I like the more straight forward, savage attacks, not crazy about all the spinning and flashy moves.

This is obviously just my opinion, but I can't see them making 2 Wu Lin characters, and if they do, I think it's a mistake, they aren't even a proper faction.

With just 2 heroes releasing, there is no way to please everyone. 2 Wulin would be best due to .. say neutrality - would make all factions even. A knight and a Samurai might please the most people, but a Viking will be sorely missed and the Wulin at this point would be .. I dunno. Even less then they are now. Personally, I wouldn't mind. As long as balance improves and we might even get a ping slider.

Ubisoft has been trying to make them so. Otherwise, if they continue to exist in this game, it’s going to feel like a half-asssed addition. Just like when Ubisoft adds a new hero that is garbage—that’s another example of something half-asssed and that’s why their trying to balance things out in season 4 with all the reworks their planning.

Wulin are going to remain in this game (as FOR SOME REASON, people actually do play and spend hours on the Wulin) so they can’t remain a half-asssed faction.

Ubisoft is going to make the Wulin a true faction. Here’s why:
    - They just got another hero
    - They just got their first map, and it’s in a relatively popular gamemode (breach)
    - They just got their own breach guardian
    - Apparently there’s a Wulin army (noted from the Zhanhu event) even though the Wulin we’re just 4 loners
    - Some planet called heathmoore is where the Wulin are living (knights are ashfeld, Vikings whatever the hell the land name is, and the myre for samurai)
    - Tandyi is in the year 4 teaser (which means Wulin involvement with year 4)
    - 5+2=7
    - 7 = 7 = 7 = 7

    Awkward:
    - 9 = 7 = 7 = 5 ?!?!?!
    - 8 = 8 = 7 = 5 ?!?!?!?!

You are getting 2 wu heroes this year. Its the only path that makes sense. I also leaves the devs with the ability to more easily balance the mechanics, damage, and pace of the game (Which they have said already that this year is going to be MOSTLY focused on).
Meaning that 2021 is when we will see heroes that are either from a new faction implemented, or they will start creating empire specific heroes from the two denominations we will be factionalized into.
The road map is very obvious even if only paying half attention.
Its the only way the numbers make sense, and the Wu are already implemented into the game in breach, and and in brawl/duel/tribute matches.
They are a faction, and honestly, I didn't like them in the beginning but they have grown on me as I have played them more this past season.

So, that's gonna be your year. A year of dev talk, balances and reworks and PVP scene promotion. With two heroes for Wu released. In preparation for a busy 2021 most likely.

The moment that I found out that Ubisoft is only introducing two new heroes, I also anticipated that both heroes would be Wu-Lin.

From a mathematical standpoint, it is the only decision that makes sense in order to even out the factions; unless they introduce heroes from a completely new faction all-together to spice things up, which I doubt would happen.

Personally, I do not like any of the current heroes in the Wu-Lin faction and because of the fact that I am used to Ubisoft making disappointing decisions, this is even more reason for me to assume that the next heroes will be only Wu-Lin.

It's definitely a good theory, and seems very plausible, but I don't think it would be a good idea personally.

Maybe if they make a few better heroes for Wu Lin, I'm not a fan of their current fighting styles or appearances, not gritty enough and too graceful/"dancy".

I understand it's martial arts and that's what these attacks and animations are based off of but it doesn't do it for me.

I can see them making two Wu Lin, but I won't be thrilled if they do, I'll probably never spend 15k to unlock them, just like I probably won't unlock the new Samurai with the unblockable lights, too generic looking, basically a lightly armoured Kensei.

Too many cheesy heroes designed for players with little to no skill; it's no secret that both Jiang Jun and Tiandi have particularly annoying move sets and their feats are overly-advantageous when compared to the older feats. Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that I don't believe most of them are properly balanced; a move like Shaolin's teleport shouldn't even exist in the game.

I totally agree with this. That being said, the 2 new heroes will be Wu Lin. People complaining Wu Lin isn't even a real faction? The teaser for year 4 states that the world is changing and new leaders arise. Story is expanding.

Wu Lin will, 100%, get a 2nd heavy, and 2nd assassin this year. They will be included in a campaign expansion, most likely a chapter 4. This will also likely bring the Wu Lin to the war map. This puts all 4 factions in the campaign, on the war map, and at 7 heroes each.

For Honor 2, or just For Honor ported to next gen at the end of this year, will launch with a 2nd Vanguard added to each faction to make 8 each.
