I've only been playing this game about a month so I am in no way an expert. But I definitely feel there's something seriously wrong with the Matchmaking.
I'm NK lvl14 & sitting near the bottom of Arena8, I don't see ANY reason whatsoever why I should be matched against lvl 18s-19s-20s.
Their lvl alone (I would think) indicates they have a MUCH stronger deck than mine.
Obviously they deliberately deranked themselves, but I really don't see any point in wasting resources trying to stop these loser tactics, better to focus on developing improved matchmaking algorithms & stop over-nerfing (Mosquito) & over-buffing (Stan of MM) cards... But that's a topic for another time.
Basically, as someone said earlier; "derankers are ruining the experience". I agree.
That's not where I usually sit. I occasionally manage to punch above and attain arena 13 7000-7499), but arena 12 is still where I wind up the majority of the time. I have the capability to break into arena 13 every so often, but I can't hold there consistently.Originally Posted by Mamey0 Go to original post
If your original post mentioned the levels of their cards rather than the NK level, then I wouldn't have had any problem with it. But just assuming that just because they're level 23 that they HAVE TO have their cards already upgraded to a certain point will rub a lot of people the wrong way.But when I was complaining about level 23 NKs at 7200 ranking - those guys are running level 5 epics and 4 legendaries. Playing in the mid to high 7k bracket (getting over 7900 in the last three seasons and usually over 7500 throughout the last several seasons) I almost exclusively play against higher level NKs with level 5 epics and oftentimes level 4 legendaries.
And I would agree with you on them being derankers if their deck is easily strong enough to break 8000. But then, that's deck strength, not NK level, isn't it?7500-8000 ranking is full of these players. So when I see a player with a deck that is easily strong enough to get 8k+ and they’re sitting at 7200 ranking, I feel experienced enough to be able to confidently say that they’re a deranker. Because, as I said before, they could sleepwalk their way to 8k with their deck and NK strength.
Still can't agree with you there. NK level is quite definitely NOT a good indicator of overall deck strength, whether on its face or on its rear end. When I can go PVP against a level 17 opponent and lose the match, that's 6 levels of difference! Deck strength was the main factor in those matches, not NK level. And I still stand by my previous statement that NK level is generally a good indicator of overall deck strength on it’s face because you’re more likely to have stronger cards with a higher level just by virtue of leveling up cards because you gain exp from leveling cards.
More generalizing, without any stats to even back it up. Where are the stats for this?In general, a 23 is going to have 5 epics. They’re going to have at least one or two level 4 legendaries.
But what about 90%? Did you just make it up?If I had access to the statistics it would be even easier to prove this point.
Or are you saying 90% of the 7500-8000 players? Because that is FAR from all level 23 NKs.Or you can go play some games at 7500-8k or so and almost every match you play will be against 23-24 NKs running 5 epics and 4 legendaries.
Your generalizations only apply to those in the 7500+ range. Of course the 23s in those ranks will have better cards than the 23s who are down around where I'm at. Level 5 epics and level 4 legendaries are rare among the level 23 NKs I face at my rank.
So, at YOUR rank, level 5 epic and level 4 legendary. Not the case with other arenas.I’m 21 and I have two legendaries at 6/8 and two more at 4/8. I would be surprised if I hit 23 and they’re still level 3. I would also be surprised if I hit 23 and I don’t have several level 5 epics.
Yes, I don't care for derankers either, but the problem needs to be addressed the proper way, based on deck strength, NOT NK level. And for the last few months now I log on to do my pvp pack 1-2 times a day and play my team war and that’s it. Because I can’t stand the ladder. It’s toxic with all of the derankers. And that’s the whole point on this thread.
I'm in complete agreement with the glaring issue of de-ranking in this game. I literally just finished a match against a player (" I AM IRONMAN "), who was at elo 7,496 but was playing with 5 level 4 legendary!
The most frustrating thing is that ending de-ranking is EXTREMELY EASY! The problem with the current setup is that it actually ENCOURAGES de-ranking because its so easy to lose points quickly and drop down to your bottom elo cap. Even losing to someone 500 elo above you, you still lose some points. So here is the answer to the issue that is killing the enjoyment of the game: Stop removing points for losses! Every season reset should drop everyone back to base level legendary, and each season should just be a point grind to get as far as you can before the next reset. The higher your points at the end of the season, the better the reward tier you get (much like it is now, but without the back and forth nonsense). Each match would be worth a guaranteed elo amount (for example, 50 points for a win and 5 points for a loss (yes, points for a loss because it still encourages you to keep playing and to finish the matches)), with extra points awarded for winning against a higher ranked player.
Now, we all know that the reason the Devs are scared to address this issue is because they don't want to kill their cash cow. However, this setup doesn't affect it at all! There are 2 ways to maximize elo gain through the season, by winning the majority of your matches or by playing a $h!t ton. So for the whales that don't want to play 20+ matches a day, they are still going to drop that cash to have the strongest deck possible to increase their likelihood of winning. This is the best and easiest solution to de-ranking. Please help me spread the word!
you guys need to see the 8000+ fights, the main deck everybody uses is this: stan of many moons (L5) Incan (L5) sharon (L6) Inuit kenny (L5) Santa (L5-6) Medusa (L5) Witchdoctor Token (L5) Ninjew (L5) Pope timmy (L5-6) Manbearpig (L5) and satan (L5)
like wow thats is some skills you have there, must be hard thinking about such a skilled deck!
This is some serious confirmation bias, probably because you struggle against that deck apparently. According to the publicly available stats, adventure/mystic is played in 11.77% of decks in the 8-8.5k range 6.26% in the 8.5k+ range.Originally Posted by Dark_CallMeLord Go to original post
So yeah... not quite everyone. The top dog in both ranges is fan/sci by a very large margin.
