Step 3: copy all file from original folder you have renamed epic0 into the installation folder just created
Step 4 : resume installation of game - you should then see it will verify the game instead of installing (it may install update afterwards)
    Step 5 : delete epic 0

See Once you downloaded the game from epic it will prompt you to open it, Uplay Service will start which will register the game on Uplay and ask you to download the game again. Do not press download. and if its starts downloading automatically don't worry.

    >Minimize everything, open Uplay and go to Uplay Library, you must be able to see the purchased game in your Library(This means you have registered the game on Uplay).

    >Now open the game page through Uplay library. You will find options like "DOWNLOAD", "Overview" etc.

    >Just below "Download" you can find the "locate the game" option.

    >If you can see this option stop all the previous processes (if your game is downloading through Uplay).

    >click on "locate the game" and locate it to the epic directory for the game.

    >Now go Back to the Uplay Library. If done right you can see the game on Installed tab. Right click > Verify.

The game will still needs to be updated maybe but yeah it wont start from scratch again.

I hope this post will clear most of you people. I am just a usual customer as you are. I came here to find how I did it before and funnily enough I forgot that I only had posted this workaround. And I can confirm this worked for me again. So yeah its working on the date of posting this... reply.
both workarounds don't work for me. With 1st way it looks like Epic does try to fix the files but it ends in uplay launcher that tries to downloading everything again.

2nd workaround doesn't work at all. Copying files to uplay launcher, locating files does nothing. always the same messages pops up.

after last message it jumps straight into redownloading whole game again.

yeah always lots of fun with uplay

    Still an issue.

I am having the exact same issue as the guy above me. Can't verify files, can't move them. Nothing works please fix this.

    Hello guys,

As noted, this is currently still being looked into by the team. We don't have any news to share at the moment, however should this change, we shall let you know.

As for the final message you receive following those steps, have you yet tried running the game or Ubisoft Connect client as an admin to see if this helps?

    Thank you!
