I am orochi main, and my lights are slower than shugoki lights HOW? i played with Kensei and the same after i used my light, the shugoki use lights after me but their hit, hits me first, HOW? and the HA is terrible their attack are faster and they have HA WHY??? this game needs to REWORK ALL CLASSES TOGETHER, the heavies are faster than assassins, heavies has more Stamina or faster regen, i cant understand.
Another problem is the ping compesation.
I have 15 ms but sometimes appear a guy with 100ms+, when this guys appear i just give up, their attacks are faster, i dont have the time to deflect/parry/defend, and when i hit them they have HA ( because they knows that has a big advantage so them choose characters with HA), and ignores my attack and them come back with heavy.
sorry about my english, its not my first language.
Well, throwing lights and gbs at lagging opponents generally works for me, i can see it working with them not even being able to counter GBs. Then again, thats when its just the one opponent being laggy.Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
not true. Ping doesn't not = lag. There is something deeper involved related to packaging inconsistencies. I play lots of matches against 100 ping and also with 100 ping on the rare occasion i play internationally and everything is fine. I remember reading a post from the devs where they said its only past 115-130 ping where you notice gameplay being affected. If someone from your region has bad ping then it is going to be a lagger. But if someone cross region with good internet plays then the affect is very minimal.Originally Posted by Vakris_One Go to original post
It surely is not as simple as ping= lag and that has always been true my entire gaming career.
If you have a high enough ping you will lag for your opponent and/or people will be laggy for you. Instant attacks will occur. I've experienced it many times when facing someone that has a consistently high ping or a ping that suddenly jumps from 20 to 250 and back again. In the past I also had occassions when my own ping jumped about and one or two enemy attacks had no animations.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
If someone has a consistent ping higher than 80 you will not be having a good time against them and nor they with you.
The ping is a measurement of the round trip time, measured in miliseconds, it takes for a packet to reach the host and for the response to return to the sender. The longer it takes, i.e. the higher your ping, the laggier the person's gameplay will be. You will absolutely see someone skip animations when their ping goes above a certain number. Having good internet is a factor yes and it does help in having a faster ping to the server with no packet loss and etc. Cross-region is absolutely possible between people with good internet but in FH the guy whose ping is travelling a longer distance to the server is at a disadvantage when it comes to cross region.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
I do 4v4 Dominion scrims frequently both region locked and cross region. My region is EU and there's never a problem of abnormally fast attacks when playing with people in EU or East America who have good internet. When they have bad internet it is absolutely reflected in their ping and their attacks can get spicy if they go above 80 ping consistently.
On the other hand, whenever there is a player from NA (North America) or the more Eastern parts of Russia 9 times out of 10 their attacks are coming out faster than normal. They're not skipping around or anything but stuff that is normally reactable becomes unreactable. This is the reason why most tournaments are region locked. Cross-region scrims and tourneys on dedicated servers are often a clown fest of having normally reactable attacks turn unreactable even when everyone has good internet. They have to be run on peer to peer in order to mitigate the issue of some players having to connect to a cross region server.
But you don't have to take my word for it, just look up a competitive For Honor streamer such as Clutchmeister, Shiggstas, Setmyx or Zer0_Craic. They all have videos of cross-region scrims and tournies. Setmyx recently did a cross region tournament and it serves as a showcase of how normally reactable attacks become unreactable when you're on a cross region server. Clutch also holds a weekly 1v1 Duel Colloseum stream. It is region locked for EU only and he caps player's ping at 75 as the maximum. This is a precaution against someone having really bad McDonalds internet since even on the same server if you have bad internet and go above 80 ping then the match becomes a clown fest of spicy attacks.
