I know this forum is largely comprised of people griping about the game after playing it for hundreds of hours, but how about being constructive for once?Originally Posted by jmart83 Go to original post
A DZ related tip - do the DZ recon missions. They are tutorials, and don't feature any other players. You can then use the main entrance to each DZ as additional fast travel points.
It's a new car. When you first get it MAN it's sweet but after a while you're like - 'What's that rattle?" Man these seats are lumpy!" "Ya feel that?" The newness has worn off BIG TIME! But, yea, those are good FTPs, and some of the side ones too.Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
That is a legit tip for new players. There are only 2 brackets so newer players will get stomped. Wait a while, farm some decent stuff, pop in when you think you're ready.Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
I am new to the division2 and have never played any other Tom Clancy titles. I have been playing a couple of weeks and have come across many basic things that I can't figure out like, how to use chat and can't find any place to look for how to's.
I came across the term "You got a perfect roll" but have no Idea what it means.
I just realized that you can't re-calibrate a weapon or armor till you do the mission then when you get to the re-calibration station it shows a couple of slides but it isn't very informative.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find how to do all the things that this game can do?
As a newcomer I love the game, however, the wiki lives a lot to be desired. and if you do a search in the forums you get back a tremendous amount of results then you have to spend hours looking for something that may not be there.
I think that if new players had a place that would answer just basic questions it would keep them playing the game.
Thanks for all of the hard work,

Chech the sticky posts at the top of the different pages ( news, player support, general ).
They usually have helpful threads to look thru.
Here is a general post to look at, hope it helps,

Since Title Update 8, attributes can all have maximum values simultaneously. This is an example for someone who only owns the base game:I came across the term "You got a perfect roll" but have no Idea what it means.
This is commonly referred to as a god roll, though some people may call that a "perfect" roll too.
Honestly, don't bother until you reach at least world tier 4. Most of your gear will be quickly replaced.I just realized that you can't re-calibrate a weapon or armor till you do the mission then when you get to the re-calibration station it shows a couple of slides but it isn't very informative.
However, do consider saving high-value rolls in your recalibration library as you come across them. Once stored in the library, you can apply those values to any gear you want.
The basic rules you need to be aware of when replacing one attribute with another (i.e. "recalibration")
- only one aspect can be modified (i.e. core attribute, secondary attribute, talent, or mod slot).
- you can recalibrate something that has previously been recalibrated, but only in the modified slot - i.e. if you modify a talent, then the talent slot is the only one that can be modified again
This youtube video is a pretty good guide to using the recalibration library: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcdMAQ9g_o8

Well, to be fair, that isn't a "perfect roll' in my book. Because one of those maxed out stats is yellow! LOL.
Regarding dark zone, I think it is important for new players to understand what kind of PvP this is. This game, like many, is structured such that you can walk into PvP with great gear which will be the most significant factor in determining if you do well or not. It is not the kind of game where everyone starts equally in terms of gear.
It is also the kind of PvP where numbers matter. You will have very different experiences doing it solo, or as a duo, or a team of 4 -- especially if that team of 4 have grinded for the best gear.
