Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I dont think so. I get the CompM4 scope, quip it, and it works. I love it. But after dying, it goes away - I am back to basic iron sights, even though when I go to loadout, the CompM4 sight is still equipped! I cannot get M4 scope back. I try equipping iron sights, and then re-equipping compM4 sight, and still I am stuck with the iron sights. I dont understand it, maybe I am doing something wrong, but this seems ridiculous. Not the first time this kind of thing has happened. Once I got a new oozie type gun with laser sights, it was a handgun yet automatic. I have it equipped, but when I press A it goes over the the right side menu where I can select another handgun. I accidentally equip a different handgun, and then the new automatic handgun I had gotten is gone. I cannot re-equip it. It is no longer in my list of handguns. Again I dont know if I am doing something wrong, but it seems kind of stupid that if I unequip a new gun I got, that I cannot re-equip it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

CompM4 sight is bugged for some weapons and slightly misaligned on most. What weapon did you use? Dying can sometimes fix a problem (unavailable drone/binoculars bug), do nothing or it could create a new one. I'd say avoid dying, but where's the fun in that?
There's no easy fix for your problem, because it was created by a situation the game didn't/couldn't/wouldn't anticipate. However, you can always reset your weapon to it's default configuration in gunsmith and reattach modifications of your choice. I recommend sticking with either EXPS or panoramic sight, since those 2 work best on all types of weapons.
You can't keep picked up weapons. Permanent weapon unlocks come from crates in the game world (shown on the map with accessory icon), battle crates (prestige, spec ops) or in-game store.
There's only 2 machine pistols in handgun category of the game, Skorpion and SMG-11. Location of the crate for Skorpion is in Remanzo province, while SMG-11 is located in Pucara.
