First REAL step in the right direction!?!

So before anyone follows this up with vitriol and venom, this is just my opinion. I respect yours, so please respect mine. Anyways! So it would appear, from my own playtime, and many many others, that this is the first Patch weve gotten that A. Hasnt broken anything major (or minor that weve found so far), and B. Has made a real impact on performance. Also, there were several fixes thay werent even mentioned in Patch Notes (replays fixed again, Redirects in TC are almost perfect, only available bike shown on Track screen, etc.). So on my Ps4 Pro, ive seen a significant difference in Texture loading, screen transitions and Lag/Stuttering. I myself only playtested for 4 hours, but several others on both reg. Ps4 and XBox have said the same. Things arent running perfectly smooth yet, but theres a noticable difference. So heres to hoping that this is truly the first Big Step forward, and things continue to get better from here! The only downside is that again, the PR dept. has made a major blunder. This makes all 4 Seasons having at least one MAJOR incorrect announcement. And this one stung especially bad. The idea of buying a bike with Trials Coins was superb, and gave us a reason to spend the 600,000 coins we have sitting around doing nothing. These mistakes are really demoralizing in the face of everything else. So i remain optimistic that the PR team will triple check their info going forward. Lastly, if any Ubi/RL folks read this far, Please consider implementing Playtesting a track, immediately! This was even advertised by a dev pre-launch. Its causing many Builders to hold off working on really complex tracks. Also, enabling viewable replays on Stadiums. I understand if the Finals arent possible, but X, Super and Duel should be. Alright, enough from me. The TLDR is, we might finally be on track to a better game, and i really hope that everyone is starting to see some of these improvements

I agree wholeheartedly. I’ve been saying for months that all the glitches and lag were fixable via patches, it took Fusion about a year to get good. On the other hand the pr announcement for this season was especially bad and that’s something UbiSoft/RedLynx can’t afford to keep doing.

You got my hopes up a little there. Redirects didn't seem a lot better (I mean, I don't know how we even need progress towards something as simple as keeping menu state, but it still routinely drops me in the wrong place, and coming out of a replay still has the same weird misbehavior I reported months ago), and I thought you meant entering a track wouldn't show bikes we can't use, since it's silly we have to scroll over bikes we can't even select, but you just meant the bike list on the details screen, where there isn't even a point to hiding bikes that aren't available, as long as the allowed bikes are clear. Or, at least there wouldn't be if they had two columns for bikes instead of the insane and obnoxious bouncing up and down it does now with a full list. Bike selection still doesn't even start with the selection on an allowed bike unless there's one recommended, and you still have to move over unavailable bikes, the list is still not a grid, and we still have the helium and donkey after the awful shop bikes, which means selecting those core bikes gets worse every season!

Really, we ought to be able to select any bike and just not have the run count if it isn't approved for the track. Every time they add a new bike, this gets more needed, since TC builders aren't allowed to just edit the allowed bikes on uploaded tracks (even if they were likely to bother), like the devs do with their own tracks in the game. New "fun" bikes would get a lot more value if we could at least play with them on existing TC tracks, for "fun"...

Well, I'm happy to hear it's less bad on console, but weird things are still wrong on PC. The game is basically playable at 720 for my partner, which is a noticeable improvement despite still having some random stuttering here and there, but 1080 is unplayable and the game still changes the settings on its own (which is probably a lot of why 1080 is unplayable, since it heavily throttles its own performance unless it's set to 60Hz, and it changes the video to 30Hz behind your back at 1080). My partner and I have the same system, and I play fine at 1080, so the game is still brokenly throttling itself--something people who don't have two of the same system side-by-side would probably never even know it does. I don't know what RL screwed up in there to make the game run deliberately slower than it needs to, but I really hope they get it straightened out before the game is a frikkin year old. Still, at least it's actually playable now. I'm not going to commend RL for "throttles itself less", but it's nice my partner will actually be able to join me in playing, even if they're still stuck at 720.
