    Snobbish Players

I've not played a huge amount of games maybe a couple a dozen or so and i've found when needing help ingame there are always folk ready to help out when called for ingame.

This game however has a very snobbish player base (EU) The problem is whenever you ranking up and have the need for help via matchmaking no one wants to drop their standards so to speak and help out players who need to get story out the way before they can move.

I spent tonight nearly 4 hour asking either for backup or going thru matchmaking with no response at all whilst trying to level up a 2nd character, Yet if i am on my main account and matchmake in hard or challenging folk jump strait tin to play

Is story mode really that far below players that they wont help, I more often than not answer and help on my main char probably 7/10 only times i dont is when im in a mission

    I'm Level 60 Sheperding Rank.
I will answer any call for help.
If you are farting around a Safehouse I will leave.
If you are standing still and not there, I will leave.
Everything else I will play until I get my Commendation then I will leave as there is no incentive to stay whatsoever.
But it's kinda random isn't it.
I just click on Matchmaking for Sheperding.
If I need to do a Project I might chose to Matchmake at a certain level...it's more random than personal and certainly not snobbish...you gotta remember everyone's playing for their own needs and low GS stuff isn't worth playing for....

I always make my way to the start of the mission and then either matchmake or request help, My reasoning is ... It takes me some considerable time sometimes to get to mission start points, especially when the area is invaded, I do it this way so any potential help should have the easy option to spawn/fast travel to me saving them the time of having to run and fight there way there

Well, to be fair, after the commendation there is still an incentive to continue playing with the one you helped -- its called being truly helpfuil for the sake of helping another and not getting "points" for it. .

But, in fairness, eskimo sounds like a fine shepherd and I am just busting chops a little on how it was worded. Because if he is level 60 shepherd then he must be driven by more than the points.

i have no problem helping someone level up. That said, when I join another player half the time I don’t know what kind of help they want because they either don't use a mic or don’t reply to messages. So I always start by using my pistol to wound enemies so that the player can get the kill xp. If the player still can’t clear the area then I will take half the npc’s. If they player waits for me to lead then I will take 3/4 of the npc’s. It’s hard to know what level to help at. I’ve played with some that want me to just bulldoze through and some that don’t want that. It would just be nice to know how the other person wants the help. I’m fine doing either. I also share all loot that I get (which is usually lower than I use). Even if the player can’t equip it now they can save it or dismantle it.

It is frustrating to join a player and then they leave right away or they stay at a base. If the player is not yet level 30 then I will usually wait for them to finish checking out their new gear by roaming and killing npc’s. Here too, most players leave the group after looking at their gear. At least give an emote goodbye or something.

I hope you get more responses from other players.

I gotta say that I enjoy helping story level player out. I pull out my pistol or Sleigher and point out highlights when needed. I ask if the player is in a hurry or just taking their time and learning the game. If they want, I'll clean house right quick. Otherwise I'll just try to keep them safe unless they aren't getting how the game works. Some folks just want to level 30 another character quick and I'll help with that too. I don't mind the Heroic runs but taking my WT5 Seekers and Gear to a level 10 fight, well, It's just a bit OP. Kinda fun to stand in the middle of a fight like Patton and direct traffic so to speak.
