This work-in-progress image was shared on today's SOTG:
A couple of big changes were mentioned that are being worked on:
1. Armor rolls are flat
2. Separation of attributes into two categories: "core" and "attributes"
3. Indicator of how good an attribute roll is (the bars below each attribute value)
Here's my speculation about what this means:
1. All items with the same gear score will have the same inherent attribute (i.e. weapon damage, armor roll)
2. We may be able to recalibrate the "core" and one non-core "attribute"
This is not due to arrive until sometime after Episode 3, but if my guess is right, this would be a welcome improvement.
[edit] ignore the values in the screenshot. It was mentioned they are not representative.
As long as these changes don't further limit the attribute value we can roll. The biggest issue with the recal is the extreme limitations. What we need is to have the gear opened up a bit, not just further limited and constrained in a different way. As in, if we can eventually roll 2 attributes but we are still help to the +150 adder on TOTAL, then everyone will still be unhappy. The +150 adder per attribute or +150 for a core and +100 for a secondary would be golden. +150 as a cumulative roll total would still suck.
They did not. They did show a new talent, and that Composure will be available on a backpack chest piece.Originally Posted by BioXTC Go to original post
IF they do this it will be the same gear , with the same rolls , they will give you 2 settings but the settings will be half of what it is now , so will look better but will just be the same. The devs will NOT give the gear a buff , What gets me is why spend the time on this if they will not fix the loot at the moment ??.. They want to keep the good bits as carrots to lure players to areas they do not want to go ,or for the vendors , where you have to go rogue to get in to the den , I hate that, i like the DZ but i hate to go rogue , even if it is just to get in to the den..
Fix what we have , then upgrade , this upgrade and patch it not working...
This is the speculation thread, so here's some more - by making flat rolls for armor/weapon damage, they will remove that as a factor in the budget system. That could result in better rolls as the same budget is now applied to fewer attributes.Originally Posted by hyper---sniper Go to original post
Plus, being able to recalibrate a core and non-core attribute is similar to what many of us have been asking for.
What is your proposal? Any "fix" is going to affect every aspect of the game and would require a lot of work to design, build and (most-importantly) test. There is no quick fix that I can think of.What gets me is why spend the time on this if they will not fix the loot at the moment ??..
Yes it would be good to adjust 2 items, but the way they treat players it will be low rolls , or they will do it in a way it does not help the game....Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
And as for proposals ,all i want is the loot fixed , give us the chance of a good bit of loot now and then, Not to have to wait for them to add it to a vendor , Just make the game WORTH playing again ..
You haven't defined what you mean by "fixed". A better chance of a good roll? That's not really a fix when we're limited to recalibrating one attribute.Originally Posted by hyper---sniper Go to original post
