That's an easy excuse when Rainbow Six has real world locations, Call of Duty, and others. A more likely reason is that they didn't want to expend the resources required to do so.Originally Posted by Mars388502 Go to original post
Thank you for your input, it's greatly appreciated, I agree with your core point: polishing the game. If there were not as many bugs than that we face on a daily basis maybe, just maybe we won't be complaining this much.Originally Posted by Klaymond Go to original post

The gods may know the real reason, I'm not trying to find excuses for Ubisoft in anyway. I sincerely don't want to talk about Rainbow six because today it's light years away of what it was originally (and if I start I can go until tomorrow).Originally Posted by TreFacTor Go to original post

Its not an excuse. To be factual my wife was not happy when GR Future Soldier showed scenes with Africans getting killed. Clearly her country is right next to Nigeria and trust me some of the scenes got under her skin. I manage to get her through the campaign but from that point we only played the PvP. She wasn't the only one from Africa found this as a annoyance. Quite of few players was upset.Originally Posted by Mars388502 Go to original post
You'll have people that will try to sue you or state a country isn't like this. If I not mistaken I think Bolivia Civilians negatively critic GR Wildlands for this. I believe it had something to do with the whole drug cartel scenario. So I see why the developers probably moved away from this. Perhaps countries that won't get too involved will be a good location like the US which may not care as long there is money to cash grab.

Here was the Bolivia complaint that reached the embassy. Government wasn't happy. So I wouldn't mind a Aurora or other fiction locations going forward
Made up countries are a way to avoid this kind of situation.Originally Posted by xxFratosxx Go to original post
A few years back (ok something like a decade back) there was a novel about an African leader that decided to unify the entier continent under it's banner, often compared to Napoléon exporting and imposing by force his vision to the continent. Eager to safeguard their position on the continent different western states decided to put up a military force to prevent a massive War on the African continent.
This was the main plot of the novel, what I found interesting was that the name of the country this African Napoléon was made up of 2 or 3 other countries (Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and probably a third one that I don't remember) the author came up with some form of anagram for the name of the made up country.
But for the life if me, I don't remember the name of the author, neither the name of the novel
What is good but could still be improved:
- Ballistics (with Perk equipped)
- Sounds of explosions
- Character gear customization (belts, NVG, option for no pack)
- Persistent bodies
- HUD options
- Random Mission Generator (Faction Missions)
Really the first and last are all that is keeping me playing this game.
The world is beautiful but I would never re-use a map and I would never advocate a fantasy island as a setting for GR. This map should have been used for Far Cry 6. Arguably, if they added viscous animals and a bow, this would be Far Cry 6.
There’s literally a hundred things that are missing, should be scrapped, reworked, or just copied from Wildlands. It still baffles me that the studio felt they needed to redevelop so many aspects of Wildlands and in nearly every way (except as mentioned above) came up with something noticeably worse.
Frankly, I have to agree with xxFratosxx, as a native Iranian, I wasn't all too pleased with how my country was portrayed back when Battlefield 3 released, so I see the fictional country being justified, as long as it's done in a believable way, and I can understand how Bolivians were not too pleased with Wildlands for various reasons.
