Very few people in WDF, error/bug? HELP

I have Just Dance 2020 for the Xbox One.

When I go live to dance on the WDF I usually only see me there or a handful of people.
When I did todays tournament at 5 PM my time there were 6(!) people participating and my ranked place this season was 20
after just ONE tournament. As I'm typing this there are two dancers online. What the heck is wrong with WDF and how do I fix it?
I want to dance with everyone else around the world. EVERYone.

Just to check, do you have the Cross-network play feature enabled or disabled in the options for your Xbox One? When it is enabled so that you can see scores from players on all platforms, there is usually good participation on the WDF. When disabled, since very few people disable this mode, there are rarely players on the WDF.

If you have cross-network play enabled and are still seeing only a few people on the WDF, then it seems likely that there is a (usually temporary) connection issue. These happen rarely, and once Ubisoft or Xbox becomes aware of it, it often is resolved in a matter of hours. Both Ubisoft and Xbox have dedicated pages that list any connectctivy issues which they know about and are working on. Keep an aye on the announcements in the News section of the JD forum also, just in case there is a problem affecting JD and Ubisoft posts an announcement there.

Where would this feature be in the menus? I thought it was standard on the Xbox and no settings for the console on its own.
I'm a fairly new Xbox One user and not super familliar with the console yet. I'm happy to get any directions for this.

After you open the game, visit the Just Dance mode (as opposed to All-Star Mode or Kids Mode).
Use the left arrow key to reach the menu on the left. Use the down arrow key to reach the Profile. Use the right arrow key. This is where your Dancer Card is, for example, You've probably been here before.
Use the right arrow key to go to the right. Select Settings. Press A to open the Settings. The last setting is called Cross-Network play. There should be a checkmark beside it if you currently have cross-network play enabled. Otherwise, press A to enable it. Make sure there is a checkmark next to this option. When you're done, press B to go back.
(If cross-network play is enabled and you still see only a few players on the WDF and this occurs regularly over an extended period, it could be that you have sort of a connectivity issue. In that case, visit the 2019 forum and read the announcements under News. One of those announcements describes how a connectivity issue may impact the WDF experience.)
    Good luck and happy dancing.

Wow, I actually figured it out right after my last post. There's a glitch with this in JD. The cross-save feature WAS "active", but not "on". So I unticked it, and ticked it back on and now its working. Maybe something for the developers to look over. Thank you for the replies tho! I was so sure my game was completely busted or that I did something with my Xbox lol!
