So the last two re-calibrations I've done were on gear. A mask and knee pads. Both were upgraded about %2, and "COST" 1500 ceramics - the max, and when you destroy the same stuff you MAYBE get 6, or 7, back.or when you do 10-15 at a time 20-30. Who\'s got the lube for that Hamster wheel? I'd add a change to the ridiculous amount of material you need to recal.
That's the thing, for how long.....If a player logs in every day and dismantles all his/hers loot everyday i can't see them keeping the player count.Originally Posted by elkyri Go to original post
At this rate the hamster is going to be on a zero hour contract soon.
Most of Riflemania's suggestions are good – and thus should be considered by the devs. Maybe they could also increase the chance of receiving materials from dismantling, as I personally feel that I do not receive any materials 95% of all the times.
Concerning the optimization station:
A big "No!" from me here. I think it killed the grind in TD1, it was only implemented because TD1 was about to be replaced by TD2 and new players needed to become powerful as quickly as possible. Such a simple way to optimize gear should not be part of a good loot shooter with a good loot system. So let's rather work on the latter and not talk about optimization. (By the way: with the current attribute system the well known system of the TD1 optimization station could not be copied for TD2. The distribution of points among all attributes are connected in TD2 and thus affect each other concerning the highest possible value – which was not the case in TD1.)
Yup, it's basic addiction theory. Rats only keep pushing the button for food if they get a reward semi-regularly. The moment it drops to zero or close to zero they lose interest very quickly. (Experiments can be googled for those interested).Originally Posted by Riflemania Go to original post
Now, I'm not exactly the person who needs a reward all the time, I'm perfectly happy with a game that's interesting to play. Unfortunately that's also no longer the case. Of course I can deliberately gimp myself by wearing lower score gear, but that's a terrible workaround isn't it?
Agreed on all your points BTW.
I got to admit, I don't get this whole 150 equipment points thing. The reason I say that is it makes no sense. I have seen players post drops that they have gotten that are almost god rolled and yet have seen my own gear be as far from that as possible. I just can't see how their perfect gear could be in anyway close to requiring the same amount of points to build the two completely different pieces. That's just 2 pieces. So when you look at all of the RNG drops it makes zero sense.Originally Posted by Marriorqq Go to original post
Maybe if I actually saw it written out, but it just doesn't add up.
Yes optimization takes the grinding for better gear completely away. but I still think recalibration of every stat once would work great, with current rng drops and how recalibration is, you would still need to grinding for all higher stats to put on a new piece to make a better piece, I dont know what stats rng gives other people, but I know my best build is 301k armor with 3k sp and I encountered 3 rouges the other with 610k armor, perfectly unbreakable, and 3k sp. This is why pvp is better in d1. They need to allow everyone in wt5 the ability to build a build that can compete with other players, and rng is not doing that for everyone. They talk about not wanting to divide the player base but rng is doing just that. I have 800hrs in the game and my highest stats are only 2/3 of max, and right now 99 percent is sitting in my stash in hopes they will change recalibration, I think it would be great to make the exact build I want, without optimization.Originally Posted by Riflemania Go to original post
