I really just don’t get why the studio felt they needed to reinvent so many things for this game... Using the same game engine.
The motorcycle physics (except for the odd superman incident) were damn good in Wildlands... but did they just port that over? No. They had to redo everything... worse. I got on a bike in this game tonight and it’s just a horrible mess of sounds, handling, and character/bike modelling. Just terrible. Why?
I just started riding the dirt bike around the map yesterday since I was tired of the helicopter. The bike "engine" sounds like the bike is screaming in pain and it sort of handles like a square (kinda hard to describe, like it only handles in right angles). It WAS better in Wildlands. I think all vehicles, except the helicopter, sound and handle worse. The helicopter handling/sounds seems to be quite the same.
I find some vehicles I’ve tried in Breakpoint seem a lot more planted and don’t feel like you’re on icy roads all the time like many vehicles in Wildlands... there’s more weight and friction in Breakpoint... more realistic. But I find the motorcycles to be a huge step backwards. It still baffles me that they literally borrowed nothing good from Wildlands. What a waste of dev effort reimplementing everything, and in most cases, coming up with a worse implementation. Baffling.Originally Posted by DoomsDayFisher Go to original post
agreed the dirt bike is really difficult especially on rocky surfaces but after a good long while of driving each I got the hang of them except that damn beautiful skell tech crotch rocket that goes 270-300mph in 0.2 seconds that will get you killed by itself but does out run any vehicle in the game.
I found getting in a vehicle just made me a stupid encounter magnet. I never bothered off-roading other than the faction missions. In wildlands when off road, the countryside can be amazingly vacant. Was in Montuyoc last night on a hill and could see nearly a km and there were just 2 Unidad guys in sight. If I have that view in BP I'll see tons of separate parties. Sentinel idea of Martial law "leave your homes, don't go to work. Go on a picnic".
