Ill tell you ecactly what they are thinking. They looked at all the different franchises they had, took various profit-friendly popular bits and pieces from all the games and put them into one frame, next step is to use the same frame throughout all the different franchises. Why would they do that? "Minimising production costs" is maximising the profit. Its easy to make all the games the same, just slap on a title of a different franchise on top and you are in business. Take ghost recon for example. I still remember the old days of Tom Clancys games, when they were made by redstorm entertainment. Those games had distinct identities and style. That game was brutal, unforgiving and your decisions mattered. From picking the team to making the plan to execution - its all on you. And oh boy did those decisions had an effect. You see back in a day there was no immortality. You had a number of solfiers to assemble the team out of. And if you get a soldier killed in the field - hes gone for good. This was a common feature back in a day and it made those games much better. However mortality makes the game more diffucult and less accessible to children and mentally challenged people, making it damaging to bussiness, so marketing team forced developers to make changes. One small ******** change at the time. Thats how you turn a franchise of tactical military shooter into rpg looter shooter hellscape. Breakpoint is ghost recon in the namr only. And they used ghost recon title to fish that cash out of nostalgic idiots like myself. Thats going to be a standard bussiness model now and has been for some time, untill bankruptcy happens, because we are fed up with this ****. And when investors pull out and marketting teams get laid off maybe then developers can make an actual game and not a souless cash grab tool. But thats just my opinion.

One can very well enjoy beer without resorting to calling it wine and utmost certainly if you buy a box of wine bottles only to discover beer cans inside - you gonna be pissed. If you know what I mean.Originally Posted by Lekter_LTU Go to original post
