If you can’t beat em, join em - Going loud

Last night after taking down El Muro’s organization in Bolivia I redeployed to Auroa for a bit.

    (TLDR at the bottom)

In Bolivia, I’ve been having a lot of success and fun lately with an aggressive assault play style on Advanced Difficulty. It works particularly well with a squad when I position them in a way we can create a bit of a cross fire situation or a funnel of death.

Now in Breakpoint, of course, you don’t have a squad, so you can’t be nearly as aggressive as you simply lack the fire power.

But I changed up my play style. I start with the G28 Scout or the Scorpio Scout with a suppressor to take out the high perch sentries. Then go loud. First taking the flying drones as I prefer to do that on my terms from a distance. Then I switch my primary. My current fav is the MK17 Assault although I will also use the G28 Scout unsuppressed. Both of these rifles hit HARD... especially unsuppressed. It’s very satisfying. A shotgun like the M4 assault is almost too good.

Depending on the facility, I’ll either move in and start doing more CQB style fighting or draw them out using the terrain to my advantage.

Strangely, it was the most satisfying play I’ve had with this game. The AI were getting engaged. I suspect not being stealthy makes it a lot easier for therm to know what to do. I was constantly frustrated when I was being stealthy as they often all went into hiding. I didn’t experience that at all with this loud play style. And I had some intense and interesting fire fights... sometimes at very close range.

One base I did over about half a dozen times trying different weapons in this style is the drone testing facility in the Restricted Area 1. There it’s built up like a small town and there were a lot of guys in the lower base that come up to the main area so if I started on the high ground, by the time I dispatched the drones in the test area, the Sentinel guys were responding and I had a great time doing CQB with them in the fake town.

I also did the GS250 Wolf Camp (Kodiac) using this style and the Wolves were also a lot more engaged. Only the bag man and snipers died inside the camp. The rest came out to the fire fight party going on around the perimiter.

TLDR:if you can’t beat em. Join em. Forget stealth and go loud. It seems to work better with the way the AI is programmed in this game and the drones essentially force it anyway, so just embrace it.

I meant to post this in the Breakpoint forum... I'll do that now, but yeah, it's one way I've found to enjoy Breakpoint given their crappy AI.
