I hate having a game I judge as "incomplete". It's a mental thing, but that's me (and I guess a fair few other people).
I took part in the closed beta but missed the open beta so I don't have the chess table content in game. That was bad enough but now with the recent Twitch drop news I find out there's other twitch drop stuff in the past that I missed. I never heard any news about it.
I don't mind too much missing cosmetic stuff in games where you can only use some of it at a time, like say in Team Fortress 2 if I don't have some hat, well I can't wear all the hats at once anyway now can I? It's different with the stuff I am missing in this game though because you can build all this stuff in one city. It feels awful not having access to everything that's available.
So long story short, I think twitch drops are a horrible idea and please, please can you make the missed content like chess tables and twitch drops available again? I'll pay. I'll pay anything. At the moment I can't bear to play the game I have owned since April...
I think it has to be live and they have to have enabled the drops. There should be a short text message under the video saying drops are enabled. You will see when you get the drops in the notifications. I watched for hours and hours yesterday and didn't get the 2nd one but then today it notified me that I got it after 5 min of watching a recorded stream, but ... .I don't know how it works. It sucks anyway.
Yes, that's correct, the stream has to be live and twitch drops also should be enabled for it. Watching other streamers or recorded streams won't count for the purpose of getting drops. Once you've watched it for the required amount of time you should get a small notification like this. Mind that sometimes there is a small delay before you get the drop so if you've already watched the stream for 3 hours, for example, and haven't received rewards yet, try waiting a bit, it might get credited to you in half an hour or so.
