    Ghost recon mechanic's.

    In the 90's when GR and Raibow 6 were being introduced to us, the games thrived in the sense of even tho, it was a fantasy, it was a real authentic fantasy.
    The guns, the ballistics, the missions.
    I know you guys are trying to broaden up sales by appealing to the arcade shooter crowd.
    But you can do so and still maintain the authenticity.
    Here are a few examples of how.
    ● First raibow and ghost game:
    • We had pistols in different calibers, by this I mean, the same platform on different calibers.
    9mm
    .40
    .45
    Players could choose which one to use, the trade off in the damage was the capacity.
    We could also choose different ammo types
    FMJ
    JHP
    Subsonic
    The trade off? FMJ has better penetration, being able to overcome certain obstacles and armor but having default damage. While the JHP has a higher damage while lacking penetration (No need to have higher recoil, just make it so that it could not overcome some walls).
    Subsonic, because it's quieter, it's also penetrates less and has lower damage (One could argue that slower rounds tends to tumble inside the target and deal more internal damage, but this is a video game, the enemy won't die from hemorrhaging.
    • Rifle ammo:
    We could have; FMJ, JHP, subsonic (don't need to explain it twice )and AP rounds
    Ball ammo (FMJ) has the standard damage and penetration, while the AP has the standard damage but has a higher penetration, being able to overcome the armor used by the wolves and the juggernaut.
    JHP would need a ton more shots against armored targets (of course unless hitting the head)
    While against unarmored targets, like the regular enemies, it would need less shots.
    Other trade off on FMJ and AP rounds, could over penetrate and hit civilians.
    • Silencers, in real life silencers aren't as quiet as in game, unless paired up with subsonic rounds, but depending on the caliber, you can still hear the shot up to 100 m away (rifle rounds, on a quiet place)
    What silencers actually do is increase muzzle velocity from the added inches to the barrel (stop making the rounds slower unless I select a subsonic round, I get that he probably instantaneously switch the ammo in game, but don't force me things)
    • Smoke grenades, self explanatory, we've been requesting it for too long, it's a must have on military shooters (Future soldier had it, for *** sake)
    • Flashlight's: everytime in the night, and enemy aims his flashlight at me, when I'm close enough, everything around me get dark and gets really hard to find where he actually is (this made me miss several shots already, since shooting directly at the light not always hit) this effect is made even worse if I'm using NOD's, so why in the name of God, can't we produce similar effect? Metal gear did it, for crying out loud. And that game is a huge satire.
    ° I know that this might be seen as kicking a downed dog, but why? Who thought it was a good idea to go ahead and change magazine capacities and reduce the DMR magazine rounds? It's 20 rounds not 15. And why did you taken one round out of the FNX?
    Also, why the options in the gunsmith were reduced, we players of GRFS were highly anxious for wildlands because of the announcement of the comeback on the gunsmith, only to be highly disappointed to find that several things that we could mess with, were taken out. (Ammo, gas regulation, pistol red dot)
    And someone thought it was a good idea to reduce even more? Can someone please explain to me what kind of logic is this? My consumer is complaining about something I did, let me take it to a next level and do it again on the next installment.
    You are talented, scenario and a lot of things on ubisoft games are mesmerizing, but your skills on decision making leaves me dumbfounded.
    Because you over and over again insist on doing the exact thing that we complain about, why?

    • Extended magazines for pistol's: pretty much all pistols can use extended base plates.
    1911 have Chip's McCormick power 10 mag's
    P320 have the 21 rounders (9mm) and 13 rounds (45)
    227 have a 14 round extended baseplate mag

    So no need for me to quote all sidearms in game.
    They can get extended magazines.


    • Who decided that we should be like a tank trying to walk ADS with most guns? Have you ever seen most of the drills that modern shooter and SOF units do? You can literally run and ADS and squeeze the trigger IRL (which most competitors do) granted that you won't be the most accurate, but shooting while moving isn't made for hitting targets at distance, is something for CQB.
    Just allow us to control our speed and the fastest we go the gun will sway a little more, if we manage to anticipate the moment to shoot, congratulations for us, but literally all pistols should allow you to move as freely as the FNX does, and all rifles should allow you to move like the tavor assault does, perhaps even faster and if so just make our aim sway a little more.

    ● Gun damage:
    You guys mentioned that you researched a lot on firearms for both GRW and GRB.
    So it leaves a bad after taste in my mouth.
    When I see:
    4 pistols chambered in .45 ACP, with virtually the same barrel length, but their damage and penetration values are all over the place.
    Damage should be related to the caliber and ammo type.
    If you want to do something like this, make available to only certain selection of pistols, +P rounds both in FMJ and JHP.
    Or how I got even more confused in seeing how 3 nearly identical rifles (three separate situations, going to mention only the AR15 style rifles.)
    Have so much different damage, penetration, reload speed and handling values.
    Have any of you actually handled any firearm (even an airsoft) at any point of your existence?
    This isn't how things work
    And, what do you mean that I can't mount nearly all accessories on all the guns I want? If the accessory is made for 1913 rails, it should work, why restrict it to class? We've hated it, are you like Yukihira Soma (Shokugeki no soma character) who can't take a hint.
    The variations are interesting and should be made like MW, where you can turn the base gun into them and even invent your own.

    Can you at least, make it like this in the new upcoming (More tactical and authentic mode that you announced)

    Please no more stupid decisions, if you try to insist on the things you are doing currently, here's a hint...we will hate it.

    The game has a lot of potential and I admire that you are creating options to accommodate to everyone, but you don't need to detract on authenticity to accommodate to the arcade players.
    Edit: By the way, from the looks of everyone talking on the forums, I'm not the only one, but when you announced new guns...I kind of were expecting new guns, not just more skins of the same ones.
    Were are the Mk18, MK20, mk 16, G17, G19...If you are going to make a skin, could you at least give us a proper modern 1911? SIEGE has one, with a modern beaver tail and tactical sights, why are we stuck with an GI style one.

    Furthermore, have any of you ever mounted an forward grip on a gun? To understand how it works.
    Vertical grips, if we were talking about stats, pretty much have the same stats regardless of model.
    Their purpose is to help control recoil by giving you something to pull the rifle into your shoulder, but closer to the muzzle and by resting the thumbs over the bore, this also works to allow you to actuate the pressure pad that will turn on the laser or light, each time you aim.
    What an incline grip does is to change the dynamic in which you'll grip it.
    No forward grip makes you reload time slower, you won't be holding them, unless you are dumb and do like some ak variations that the forward grip impairs and gets in the way of the mag insertion (that is why you don't place it to close to your magazine, what's the point? Just grip the magwell then).

    And why isn't the digital scope (Specter DR) not variable anymore?
    And what is it with the shotgun (M4 shorty) I can hit shots at 500m...granted I have to shoot several times but still, almost zero bullet drop and dispersion

    By the way, I know this might make some of you guys feel irritated and annoyed about what I'm saying, perhaps even upset for having your creation criticized, but you guys made so many wrong choices about this.
    You promised one thing and delivered something else, trying to please two worlds you decided on a third path that infuriated both sides.
    When by doing the changes proposed on this thread, which are things I've seen people asking for in countless threads.
    You could easily achieve a balance, why not give it a try? Arcade players would have nothing to complain about this.

    Since the introduction of customization to the character in GRW, we kind of were expecting it to be further improved, it’s nice that most models look better now, and that we can blouse the boots.
    But like many people suggested, there is room to improvement, here is a compilation of suggestions that has been popping out on the forums recently.

    • Choice of different patches to different areas, It’s kind of annoying to choose one patch and have it repeating in all available surfaces, would be nice to be able to run different patches.
    • Beret customization (Pins)
    • Holster is too low (I’ve also been complaining about this a lot)
    • Pistol’s with laser (And a few models even without the laser) clip through the holster, it’s not a light/laser bearing holster, of course they are going to clip through, didn’t you test this?
    • Ability to roll the shirt sleeves (Could work by pressing Y, triangle or the pc button, on the next situation where I need to mention the button’s I’m going to mention only Y)
    • Select the loadout on the vest (It’s bugged, and frankly instead of trying to fix the coding and risking breaking something else, why not just making available by pressing Y, a menu where we can select some loadouts for the vest? Since the coding to make it change for the class, makes you need to restrict what goes on the vest, making it too minimalistic, this change could even accommodate more complex and better-looking loadouts)
    • Being able to customize the gear from figures like: Vasily, Fury, Fixit pant’s, why? Well they have more depth and some cool looking things, the vanilla thing’s that we can customize for usage with the character are really blend (Like mentioned about the loadout’s on the vest.
    • Bring back the ability to use a mask and the shemagh (Also make the shemagh’s have shemagh’s pattern’s, and the way they are modelled looks so meh, why can’t you make it look like the way LTC Cole Walker used in Wildlands, that looked really good)
    • Give us the ability to select holsters by pressing Y and opening a menu with other models, here are some suggestions: Safariland 6004 L UBL holster (L stands for light bearing and UBL for it’s not supposed to be worn at the knee, but instead, just under the belt line), Safariland 6534 L UBL, T-rex Arms Ragnarok L UBL, since you guys love the serpa so much, you could even add it too.
    • TCI patrol should not lose the headband when used with hats, the band should just cover the hat, the way its set now, that s h i t would easily fall off his head. And it should be usable with the boonie hat (Under the hat, with just the headset and mic appearing).
    • Please make so that the mole on the battle belt, matches the camo selected.
    • We should be able to use gas mask’s with helmet’s and headset’s like on wildlands.

    There are so many things that can be added to the game, first of all, Since I got the Gear level above the 250, I don’t even waste my time to take the chest’s across auroa, because literally there will be nothing new.
    I was hoping to see new guns and to see some of the comical mechanics gone.
    The rifle has a shorter barrel, is full auto only, so there is more recoil and more damage.
    Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (Annoyed Sideshow bob noises)
    I’ve been having this feeling that ever since GRFS, GR franchise became a huge parody, much like Farcry, with cartoonish badguys and over the top mechanics.
    Enemies have a huge flair for the dramatic, they like bright colors and comical clothing, there isn’t much of anything tactical about the NPC’s, I’m glad we still have a choice.
    But at times, I feel that I accidentally started Saints Row on my console, and that the target audience for Ubisoft games, had been shifting over the years and they don’t have the gut’s to admit it.
    I remember when GR and Rb6 had missions that made sense.
    • A terrorist group taken control of somewhere and you need to go there and rescue the hostages (Mission success, objectives completed...Who remember this line?)
    Some missions in game actually do have some realistic ground on type of situations that a resistance group would face, but there are so many outrageous thing’s, that are worthy of a comedy sitcom (Like; Most dialog's, facial expressions, plot holes, literal lack of intelligence of some characters, even the ones who were supposed to be geniuses).

    Gun mechanics that would be highly welcomed in the newest tactical mode.
    • Damage is based on caliber, type of bullet and barrel length, but keeping in mind that the difference between a 16” and a 14,5” is barely noticeable, you’d see a more noticeable difference between an 20” to a 14,5” or from a 16” to a 10”, but it still be neglectable (Since the difference between in FPS from a 16” to a 14,5” muzzle velocity is only 8 m/s, and from a 20” to a 14,5” is merely 35 m/s)
    • Guns should allow for caliber conversion, when the platform has versions in other calibers ex: XDM should have a .40 and 9mm version, each with the correct capacity for the caliber (Like older R6 and GR games)
    • 9mm caliber guns shouldn’t have a harder recoil than a .40 or a .45
    • 9mm guns shouldn’t have higher damage than a .45, even tho kinetic energy doesn’t mean much on real life, since the determining factor of neutralizing a threat is blood loss, this being a video game parameters for damage must be set, 9mm kinetic energy ranges from 355 to 400 and something Joules, while .45 ranges from 480 to 700 (That being dependent on the load) and something joules, so makes no sense for the FNX 45, USP, MH17 and 227, having a damage of 20 while the M9 has a damage of 25, (And higher recoil, not to mention the FN 5.7 having a crazy recoil, when everyone that shoots it, mentions that the recoil is hardly anything more than a 22.) and the other two .45 pistols (1911 and XDM) have a 27 damage.
    • All guns should allow a tank free movement, just bring the sway a bit up, and instead of having the panther as a class that can move faster while ADS, just have him have more control over the sway (It’s really horrible to pie a corner, find and enemy ready to blast you, and not being able to jump back in the room, because you are slower than a snail) The bigger the gun, the bigger the inertia, so just make the sight’s take a little bit more to align once you move them around, instead of making you incapable of moving, this isn’t how things work on reality, and is a complete immersion breaker.
    • Allow us to change triggers on the gunsmith, so most if not all SMG’s and Rifles, can have a Single/Auto version
    • Please bring higher magnification scopes and increase the draw distance.
    • I don’t know if other players might agree, but an option to turn on windage, similar to games like (Sniper elite) that has a compass on the scope that shows the wind direction and strength.
    • Standalone grenade launchers (Kind of like Vasily ability).
    Guns and gear’s that would be really nice to see added in the future:
    • Mk 18
    • Mk 16
    • Mk 20 (Call it a scout version of the Mk 17, and allow us to completely change the MK 17 and make our own versions; Scout, Assault, but please stop restricting the fire mode, let that be decided by the trigger we select, trade offs are stupid, I don’t want to play an RPG, I want an authentic game, that was promised to us)
    • VP 9 and VP 40
    • CZ p10C
    • G 17, 19, 21 and 22
    • Remington MSR
    • ACR
    • M110SASS
    • Mk11 and 12 SPR
    • Geissele URGI
    • LBT 6094
    • Salomon hiking boots
    • Merrel MOAB boots
    • Crye precision G3 shirt (The real one)
    • Haley Strategic D3CRX chest rig
    • Haley strategic Flat pack
    • Mecanix gloves

    Thanks, I'm glad you agree and liked it. I'd love if people contributed with all the glitches and bugs, I'll also post them here.
    So I don't focus only on this aspect of things.
