Dear Ubisoft
Let me clarify some things up in case you didn't notice. First of all, this game does not need a latency cap of 300. Why? Let me describe a situation for you.
You want to have fun with this video game and you decided to play some dominion games. You are playing on central EU soil (for example Germany). Yet you are facing a squad of arabians with 100+ latency. There is a shaman whose attacks are sped up beyond the point of being parryable. There is a lawbringer who got instant light attacks and shoves. There is a peacekeeper who just can spam her lights, knowing that people can't parry them thanks to their connection.
There are also people who are using lagswitching and parry-programs such as these:

Let me ask you a question: Do you believe a videogame should be fun and have fair gameplay? If you answer yes to this question, then I have to say that i don't see neither of these things in your game. Many competitive players, many streamers such as Daddy_Law_69, Clutchmeister, Macgeiler, Lolichul, Faraam,... are asking for a latency cap of 50-60 in this game aswell. Even the famous Freeze, who made many videos about the game and balancing, finds the current latency cap of 300 ridiculous. If you are asking for proof of latency issues, let me tell you this: open twitch.tv, click on a streamer and watch his/her VOD. There is proof enough for you to dig in and analyze the so-called data you all love.
In conclusion, before you look further into balancing the heroes and add new contents, work first on the next:
- Introduce a 50 - 60 latency cap. If someone has a higher latency then that, he/she is kicked out of the game.
- Introduce region lock. Why should Europeans face Americans, Asians, Arabians and Australians with latencies over 100 and vice versa? That doesn't make sence? There are so many games where region lock is introduced and people can enjoy playing the game by fighting against other players with decent latency.
I know people will come up with the excuse such as "There arent enough players in FH, why introduce a latency cap?" or "There aren't any people playing in my regions, so i move to the other continents and face other players. This way I can win games with my latency". You make take those complaints to this website: https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/
Yes,the website where many people cry and complain about everything instead of thinking straight and training themself in getting better at the game. I'm also still astonished that you are ignoring the complaints of latency issues until now, and I wonder if you will keep this up for many years to come? Will you also finally take actions in banning lagswitchers and latencyabuers in year 4? Or are you just going to ignore that too?
If you can't fix the latency issues, then i do not know what you still have in store for this game. We are almost in year 4 of this game.... People have paid for the game or obtained it for free. Do not think that you can just create stuff for this game and ignore the problems. That's just not morally and ethically right. There are even laws that forbids this kind of actions.
An advice or two for you: Put your hands out the sleeves, focus on the important things first, improve and then you can continue adding content to the game.
Thanks for reading this and I hope you are finally introducing the long-awaited 50-60 latency cap.
you tell em buddy Kappa
I am offended by how german this post is.Originally Posted by Haemmerst0rm Go to original post

lmfao
I don't think a 50-60 latency cap will be unfair for many countries where internet connection isn't that great, I sometimes find myself with a temporary latency of 80, although most of the time I have less than 50.
I agree that a 300 cap is ridiculous, but I believe that a 50-60 is too low, maybe a 100 latency cap?
That's a rather low latency cap. If it were to be put in place, I wouldn't be able to team up with Knight_Raime and Alustar.exe anymore because they're overseas
(And I like eating people with Alu...)
On the US server my latency is usually around the high 60's bc I'm in Europe. While if I solo queue they're around the 20's (on the European servers of course).
It really makes me wonder how people can reach the 300's while connecting to their closest server...
Maybe a 100 latency cap is better?
And then again, there are a lot of people who don't have great internet connection, you'd basically take away their ability to play the game...
High latency doesn't always mean that you have the advantage.
I'm not even German to be honest, but i do live close to Germany tho. But that's not the point of this discussion.Originally Posted by KitingFatKidsEZ Go to original post
You really should not be allowed to queue cross region because it screws the integrity of the game.Originally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post
90% of games do not allow players to queue cross region by default for that reason. The fact that it is included here is a major design oversight in the first place.
High latency makes the game stupid and as a result consistently benefits bad players while good players consistently get a disdvantage.Originally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post
If you can react to 100% of bashes on good ping but your opponent can never do that. Then your opponent can just play with ****ty ping and it evens the playing field because suddenly nobody can react to anything and the game turns into a joke where both players just press random buttons. (theres an argument to be made here about specifically abusing hyperarmor characters while playing with high ping but thats not the point i want to make)
Either way - high ping is a pretty one sided affair. Its pretty much always in favor of the one lagging. Wether intentional or unintentional just by being much more used to having consistent poor ping.
So people who have friends on different continents shouldn't be able to play with them? Or are you talking about solo queue?Originally Posted by KitingFatKidsEZ Go to original post
90% of games? None of the multiplayer games I play have such restrictions
Aight dawg - try playing CS-GO cross continent (or any comp shooter that "technically" allows it). make a nice video. Tell us how it wentOriginally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post

exactly - in a comp shooter nobody would ever try to play with 60+ ping because it would be a fking disaster 100% of the time - every time for the guy playing with high ping (regardless of skill level).Originally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post
Funny enough i have also never seen a really good for honor player go - fk yes finally i can play the game with 60+ ping.
As i have already pointed out ^
