Hi and thank you for reading this if you do.
I love the concept of a "Raid", but the version now in the game is a fail for most. Matchmaking is haphazard at best if it's working, and so far for me, a terrible experience. It might work for some though --- those who just love to run fast, past everything, skipping your fantastic graphics, cut scenes and story lines, just to get to bosses and that precious loot you award; however, I seem to recall that you worked pretty damn hard generating this gorgeous open world and content. Right? Destiny and Warframe have totally nuked appreciation for good work, hard work at that.
I have a solution I think - one to fit all play styles, and it's doable pretty quickly. Make a 2nd version, a different instance, but don't call it "Raid". Call it a DLC or expansion, whatever, but name it "The Darkness of Golem Island" or such. It's for those of us who wish to experience the entire island, the story, the lore - all of it. DO NOT force 4 player groups - you have that in the current version of the "Raid". Make it 1,2,3 or 4 person, basically just co-op, and scale mobs and bosses accordingly. That should not be difficult as you should already have a formula based on the rest of the game. If you absolutely feel the need to reduce the quality of the loot, that's really not a problem. It would keep the elitists out and most of us who would choose this version are OK with our weapons anyway (imo). You'd need more bivi's, save points, etc. as this version would work just like the rest of the game .... just a bit harder. In fact, make it a 200gs area if you wish -- that would give all a nice plum to shoot for and it's a great way to maintain involvement of those who do have the score.
I would say this "model" should be how you release any new "Raid" area. It's a win-win for all PvP and PvE. IMO I think you would retain all segments of the playing population for a long, long time. Thank you for the chance to give feedback.
