I’m all in favor of scrapping the gear score.
It adds no value. I was playing PVP averaging 5-9 kills a game with a gear score of 43. Against players that were 200+

I was a big fan of the original Division and the Gear worked in that game - probably because it was more on the armour, gloves head wear that did provide improvements. If Gear Scoring was to work then it should be bracketed as I hate having to drop my favoured weapon in favour of a high scored weapon, but I wouldn't necessarily miss it if it was removed altogether. Looking at the official survey reports, its said that 35% of players wanted it dropped - Thats a relatively small number when you consider 65% weren't bothered or don't want it changed?

There is nothing fun about picking up the same weapons over and over with slightly different stats, then having to manage your inventory constantly. You spend more time in the menus than playing the game. It also changes the whole dynamics and play loop from tactical stealth to just kill anything that moves because it may have a new shiny. Which is how most of the story mission are designed now they make you go to an unnecessary amount of bases to clear and loot them before going to the actual objective. Waste of time and has destroyed narrative.

That said, I don't believe they are going to remove gear score. I kind of seemed like they were implying they were making a separate mode without that trash for ghost recon fans.

Gear score is stupid, they should never have made that, it belongs to division, ghost recon is different story

Ima have to disagree with this whole post entirely. All ghost recon games before this game was not RPGs. When I was a kid and you heard Tom Clancy's whatever game you instantly though realistic. Past titles may had RPG based elements but they was not RPGs. This is an RPG managed by states of gear. I'm active duty and they're is no way that I have a gear score to make my round anymore powerful. There is a stat for a weapons range....the only thing that determines a weapons range is the barrel. Not another weapon or person with a higher GS. A bullet is a bullet regardless on what your GS is and if I'm being hit by rounds that kill me in 2 shots from a pistol drone I should not have to shoot it 6x with a 7.62 round to destroy it

Gear score has no place in a Tactical Shooter. There's plenty of Games that work with Gear score .Ghostrecon is not one of them. In the 19 years this Franchise has existed Gearscore is worst addition ever made to the Game. It makes no sense adds no value its just there to keep you grinding .This could have been achieved in a different way.

You have a right for opinion but in this instance I am telling you to pack bags and go play division...

Go to the forum and ask for division 3 to be like Breakpoint and I will probably play the game as well.

But get rid of this bs from GR franchise asap. It has no place here and all it needs are more hardcore realistic features to revert this arcade / rpg monstrocity...

Wildlands is nothing like this game. We asked for it from the first and now it’s hampering gameplay? Why? I want rewards with defeating the raid. The purpose of gear score is a small advantage over the wolves. This is Aurora, not Bolivia. Keep it because I promise if they get rid of it because you pansies can’t take out a Behemoth or a high level camp then stop playing this game. The gear score is a much needed improvement to the franchise
I killed behemoth with gs 70 with explosives on extreme difficulty so keep your noob talk to yourself.

Behemoth and armored drones should be vulnerable only to emp and explosives. Shooting it those airsoft guns breakpoint has is just silly

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll say the overwhelming, mass audience has spoken, through a company provided survey, not to mention in our congenial forums, just the opposite, that it should be removed.

Whether you ever get heard, by whom or for what, is totally irrelevant to any discussion whatsoever. If you believe it will "kill" the game, fine, substantiate your opinion with some reasoning. Your passion for the game is clear. You don't need to use prog level statements to fortify it.
