I really don't get your point. What's great of collecting scrap all over the place to level up and being forced to use weapons you don't like because they have higher gear score. For me, the gear score was one of the worst additions in the franchise. It doesn't fit the setting and it's very poorly done. Pls just remove it Ubisoft!
If they can't (and I suspect that it'll require an almost complete rewrite) this would be perfect.Originally Posted by torque-gt Go to original post
But the only things the gear score is for is the slow down the experience to hide the lack of content and stroke players e-peen.
Ha! Don't... You're the only one that wants this. Dumbest thing added to the game. A 308 is a 308. A 5.56 is a 5.56. make the game more realistic not a Nerf game.Originally Posted by Dbo2443 Go to original post
this is what ruins GRS series they are all becoming Division!
GRS was all about tactics - the first games were single player!
Then Wildlands showed up and ROCKED the series = 4 player coop- Open world!
Breakpoint = bastard child of Division= the dropped the ball!
Ask them why sales are so low!
They phucked up what was great about what was there.
you want other then a tactical coop open world game with out stupid RPG stupidity
THIS IS NOT THE GAME!
yes the phucked up the series !
I JUST WANT GUNS AND THE STUFF THAT YOU PUT ON THEM. For argument sake, if I'm an operator I can make my weapon perform better by making mechanical changes IE like on SC Blacklist. If I buy a stock weapon it should roughly perform the same way no matter if I bought it from Joe's pawnshop or Academy. To say it simpler, The number above the weapon doesnt change enough to matter!!!! GOOD RIDDANCE TO GEAR SCORE!!!!!
The mistake made with GRBP's introduction of a progression system was to do it using tiered based gear then something like skill points alone. If instead of getting better prepared for the next mission by getting better gear was done by earning more skill points which could then be spent to increase things like various weapon handling, health, stamina and so on I doubt there would have been the level of negative feedback from returning GR fans. IMO the tiered loot was added because someone (likely an ubisoft executive and not one of the actual developers) thought it would improve the game because Ubisofts other Tom Clancy based shooter THE DIVISION had this and it was Ubisofts best selling title ever. It also had the upside of opening up more avenues for micro-transactions.
The Tiered gear progression system however is out of place in a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon and I'm saying this as a die-hard fan of The Division who initially turned to Wildlands seeking a Division substitute after having thousands of hours in The Division and thus grown tired of it. I incorrectly assumed that Wildlands would be like The Division and when it was not I was fine with what it was. As a fan of The Division one might assume I would welcome the addition of a tiered gear progression system to GR but I'm not because it simply does not work well in a GR game.
I've started to see pro-tiered loot fans of the game start to say that maybe it wasn't a good idea after all now that they've hit end game and realize that it does not work in a GR game like it does in other looter/shooters like Division, Borderlands and Destiny. I have no doubt that at this point the completely removal of tiered loot as progression is probably not feasible and so an alternative must be derived when the player gets to choose if they want this to be a part of their Breakpoint experience or not. I would hope that moving forward this same terrible mistake will not be made with future installments i the GR series but for Breakpoint the only viable way forward is something that lets the player choose. What concerns me now is the secrecy game that the studio has used regarding the status of the game and its future. Simply telling us something is coming and nothing more is not acceptable when your game is in the sate this one is and considering we've already seen several delays and re-scheduling of updates.
The studio could be working on Breakpoints equivalent of The Divisions Warlords expansion and it could still fail to turn things around even if its great because it came a day late even if it wasn't a dollar short. I believe most of us regardless of your stance on the tiered loot progression want the game to succeed and we are wiling to be patient but as the customer we are the ones that need to be satisfied, made happy. Even though you may already have our money from this game you can be assured that future monetary engagements with the series will not happen if we aren't treated with the respect we as your customers deserve.
