    Virtual Chris inspired play

Yes if my friends jumped off a bridge I would to so there Dad!

Inspired by Chris' creative impulse and having viewed a couple youtube channels on the history of GR games and particular splinter cell I thought I'd try something different. Extreme play, Ghost mode, no Hud no AI teammates unless the mission really needed them. My role is an operative searching as surreptitiously and as unobtrusively as possible into the death of Ricky Sandoval. To be clear I do keep saves periodically. I am not that much a glutton for punishment to accept permadeath. So far I have not died, but it is way early.....

Tonight had a particularly fun moment in Itacua (I am still there trying to collect all the kingfisher documents - I wish they had made documents specific to that investigation. Getting something that tells me about an unfinished bridge legend isn't getting me points with my superiors). Anyway I am in Buena Vida and things are going south. The Cartel knows something is up and called in reinforcements. I laid low and they eventually decided whoever was around had split. This is where it gets interesting and so much better than trying to do anything like this in BP. The reinforcing guys have split except for the two cars. They are now parked facing each other but with maybe 75 meters separation on the street that I need to cross to enter the compound that has the intel I want. I am on a rooftop overlooking the compound and can see only the drivers are there. I decide to take out the driver of the car furthest away. He goes down with a single round through the windshield. No alert goes up but the second driver gets suspicious. He drives around to the entrance of the building I am in, gets out and looks around briefly, then gets back in his car. I slip down stairs and put a round through his windshield, but now a 3rd car pulls up, 2 guys get out, spot the body and now the alert goes up. Time to bail. I'll have to come back another time, hopefully at night.

Back in at night. Did some initial recon and then settled in. Eventually the Cartel guys start fading out. I love that about Wildlands as opposed to the robot routine of BP. I have to take down one guard patrolling. The physical takedown was nice after seeing the same enraged slasher routine from BP 8 million times. Slipped in, got the intel, slipped out. Nobody dead and as far as the Cartel knows that guy got beat up by a jealous boyfriend. Should have gone that route to begin with. So much to unlearn from BP.

Likewise, Chris has inspired me to do a new unique play through.

    Bowman: The hands-on handler.

The basic premise: Play as Bowman(Icon) and use the drone to command the team AI continuously through each mission. All the while, staying out of combat as best as possible.

I've completed several missions like this in the past, just for fun, but I've never tried a full play through like this. There are obviously missions where the player must be involved but I had no problem completing Itacua without drawing my weapon. I'm still putting more thought into it, and aside from the super slow ballistics with a suppressor on, it's good to be back in Bolivia.

This is so cool. I love it! LOL. I can’t believe I had anything to do with it though.

Great reading, and I love your plausible deniability. Just reading this I can’t picture any of it being possible in BP.

I love the premise as well.

Wow. That’s original. What weapons does Bowman use? LOL

One thing you could do later if you want to switch it up a bit, is change Bowman to one of the other Squad mates so you can take a more active role as a ghost.

I once replaced Weaver with a local Bolivian Rebel/Hunter/Tracker Character and dressed him in the tracker outfit with face paint while the rest of us were all tacticool. He was our local guide and translator and sharpshooter.

One thing I’m thinking of doing next is to play a former Bouchon that has been wronged, framed, setup or left for dead by the Cartel, so he’s out to get revenge. I was thinking he might have a lot of cash, a helicopter, a pilot, a Lambo, and even a few friends he could call up from time to time (also Cartel members). Making a statement and leaving some kind of calling card behind at the scene would make this fun. If you guys have anything that would make a good calling card, let me know. The most obvious is to blow everything to hell... vehicles, generators, comms, etc. There’s just not a lot one can do.

Bowman started carrying a short stock MP5 with no attachments or suppressor, and a gift from an old friend the 5.7 Blacklist. But now the His AK. Like I said, I cleared out Itacua without firing a shot so the weapons are always holstered. I've spent most of the missions sitting in the back of the Helo that Bowman flys the Ghosts around in, since none of them are rated to fly Helos with out Nomad around, and we can't trust Holt to drive... Not after that one time.

I'll try to grab a few good clips so you guys can see what I'm doing, I'm failing at being very constructive with my thoughts on the forums today.

"White Hat is a dead man walking ..." perhaps?

2:50 mark of the E3 2015 reveal trailer

Wow. Brilliant idea. Is there a white cowboy hat in the game as a cosmetic?

Plus that trailer is just so awesome. Although White Hat isn’t a character in that mission, the rest (various game play styles) is very true to what was delivered in the game.
