    Hell or Sliding

I wouldn't pick the former, but the latter isn't much better. The idea of sliding isn't bad in and of itself, but the actual in game mechanics are so horrible it's a rage maker. And there is one thing that is actually worse in the game, and that is the bug that freezes controls, such as scope aim or even fire, until you....slide, swim or do something to break the bug. Thankfully, THAT one is much less frequent then the sliding. After 300 hours, this IS my biggest irritation with this game. Yeah, I can control slide down parts of a mountain, but what if I don't want to be forced to on every slope no matter how minor? It happens on dry, wet, snow, mud, rocks, grass, dirt, concrete, and everywhere one could possibly find a minor downhill direction that barely qualifies as a slope. In a firefight with 6-7 mobs including a sniper and rocketman with a chopper approaching? Sorry mob, I have to slide to the bottom of the mountain to get back to you, no rocks to come to a jarring stop with that toilet grunt sound. Running 400m to get to a spot? No problem, barely any "slopes" so all I have to deal with is bathroom noises.

Seriously, if I didn't think it would set a bad precedent, I'd pay extra to get rid of this bug. At least have some in game or pre-play adjusting available.

    Sliding is overdone.

As a former grunt that’s had to negotiate multiple types of terrain with crazy amounts of weight on my LBE and on my back I appreciate the concept and effort but seriously guys constantly sliding down even the slightest decline is absurd and is truly rage inducing.

Sliding annoys me more than anything when I otherwise like the game.

The down hill run seems to be based on a person who's never done anything but sit on a couch and eat fried chicken and has his ankles tied together. Running down hill, even with snow, sand or gravel, isn't difficult. I do it all the time. The freakin' whining, moaning, and stumbling when going down hill is enormously annoying, particularly when I have to go half a mile down hill to get to my summoned helicopter. I'm guessing it's supposed to be realistic and may be so, relative to someone who never goes outside, walks, runs, crawls or has legs. It's to the point where I enjoy play until the first ridiculous slide and then it's "oh, f*%K this" and back to Far Cry or AC where that nonsense doesn't happen. Look how beautiful, while still carefully, an Assassin's Creed character runs down hill without losing speed. It's obviously designed by someone who's healthy and runs.
