    Why not offline?

Why do the devs so adamant about it being online only? I don't see Monster Hunter World doing that. And they sold 14 million+ lol. What a fkin joke ubisoft is.

It's the system behind the game. Since ghost war PVP share the progress and the same PG of the PVE campaign, the game need to avoid cheating. To do it, a full online check of your progress is required. They should divide PVP from PVE to do that.

Because it's intended as a co-op or PvP game and you have to be online for that.

'Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa. Choose the right alliances and decide how to take down your toughest enemy.'

That doesn't invalidate what I said. It seems pretty obvious from playing the game why it's online only.

Yes, it does. The game isn't only meant to be played co-op or PvP. The store page says the game was intended to be able to be played entirely solo. PvP and Co-Op play does not require online only functions. Wildlands proves your claim false.

Two different sources on official Ubi pages say the game is meant to be playable entirely solo. Much like Wildlands, you CAN play PvP or Co-Op, but the game still works without a constant online connection. There is no reason for it's necessity. They are built on the same engine. It was entirely possible to make Breakpoint offline capable.
