Thinking about picking up one of the assassins. Which one is the best right now?

    Either Berserker or Gladiator.

Berserker because sheer number of attacks and ludicrously-stupidly-great feint mix-ups.
Gladiator because he's got a higher skill ceiling, but is also mix-up intensive without feeling cheap.

If you play premade probably Shaman and Gladiator at the moment due to insane gank potential.

If not Zerk is very strong by himself, slighly more than the 2 above.

Shinobi can still be strong if you like to hard focus the objectives (running arround all the time) but outside of that is very bad atm.

Same for Nuxia, she can be devastating due to traps, 400ms spam and feats at average level but fail hard at any decent level.

Then you have at the bottom Roch and Pk which are bad at pretty much everything outside of console duel maybe.

Pk is pretty okay in breach. She can get around insanely fast and people don't just outright parry your lights very oft [at least on xbone]

Pk in Breach is fine. On long distance, she runs better than shinobi, has stealth and avarage feats, and I find her actually useful for 1v1s. I wrote a detailed Breach guide for her pre-buff, with the buffs, she is a barely viable duelist. I can certainly advise her for a tryout, she feels rewarding, has a good learning curve, and has some of the best customizations.

Personally on attack I have been running around with the conquer feat to ninja cap the ramparts. Good speed overall

Her rotation is good, but outside of that there is pretty much anything she can do than others assassins except Roch/Shino can do better.

Best assassins pick atm is for sure among Glad or Shaman for Ganking with an advantage to Glad for ganking and to Shaman for her ability to keep a zone with her traps plus insane rotation to B. If you Don't like those 2 Nuxia can still be okay in that role due to traps and feats.

Then if you just want a very solid assassins overall Zerk is the one.

Pk, Roch and Shino are still underperforming a lot compare to the 4 others.

I think shaman is the best assassin in the entire game. Probably the top 5 best heroes in the game as well

It depends on what you mean by "best."

The Best Hero at getting killed easily: Shinobi
The Best Hero at having useless movesets: Shinobi
The Best Hero at lacking hyper armor: Shinobi
The Best Hero at lacking a dodge attack: Shinobi
The Best Hero at lacking consecutive combos: Shinobi
The Best Hero at providing weak offense: Shinobi
The Best Hero at providing weak defense: Shinobi
The Best Hero at being vulnerable to interruption: Shinobi
The Best Hero at falling down because of his own move: Shinobi
The Best Hero at recovering slowly after falling down: Shinobi
The Best Hero at being nerfed into the ground: Shinobi
The Best Hero at being trash ever since Patch 2.11: Shinobi

If you want the opposite of the above, then I recommend Berserker or Shaman.

Yeah, none of that is true if you use the hero well in 4v4, you have stealth, extremely strong feats, high damage, the best movement speed (at least it's totally unrivaled in short distances), the second best punishes after lawbringer, very good optionselects for punishes, and while you lack your offense in 1v1, ranged attacks still work with good situational awareness. If you want to enter a group fight and you find yourself surrounded by multiple heavies and vanguards, then of course you die, which is fair since you do something totally alien to your role, which is ambush, assassination and sabotaging everything the opponent does. Imagine it the other way around, what if a Shugoki might try to take the assassin role? It would be hilarious as he would try to stealth his way to an unguarded zone, wasn't it?
