Hello all! So guys, we finally made it! Year 3 is now fully in our grasp, and whatever lies in store for us and For Honor in the future is anyone else's guess aside from Centurion's pending rework and other minor changes to the game.
So what better way to celebrate than to pitch some concepts for new Executions regarding our new heroes? Alongside some juicy console and PC-wide achievements we could've obtained as a nice little motivation to try and grasp the new heroes and maps to the fullest extent.
For those of you familiar with my previous posts, the Executions will be described as vividly as possible to build a mental picture of the movements, gravity of the animations and the level of violence depicted, with the points of permadeath indicated with *bold asterisks like this one!*
So, by all means, sit back, relax, and envision the violence. Let us pray Ubi is reading this...
Year 3 Executions
Black Prior
‘Curb Appeal’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: Yes
- Dismemberment: None
The Black Prior rips their sword from the victim’s chest, and immediately side steps whilst smashing the lower edge of their kite shield into the left kneecap with a loud crack, dropping the foe to their hands and knees.
Without pause, the Prior then viciously stabs their sword through their left hip, before brutally lifting their left boot and *stomping on their head with a wet splatter*, crushing the skull and killing them instantly whilst slamming their body flat onto the ground.
The Prior then rips their sword out in an eviscerating arc, flipping the corpse onto its back.
‘In Manus Mea’
- Long Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Black Prior pulls the sword free from their foe, who is then surprisingly charged by the staggering victim. They manage to grapple the Prior and manipulate the sword from their grip to clatter to the floor.
With an annoyed grunt, the Prior discards their kite shield from their unoccupied fist, rolls their knuckles with a crack, and sends two brutal hooks into the victim’s face, dazing them and causing them to release the Prior’s other arm.
With their sword hand now free, the Prior sends another punch with the sword hand into their gut, followed by a dazing backhand slap to the face and raises a boot to stomp on the enemy’s right foot.
Dazed, confused, and on the cusp of agonising death, the Prior reaches over the victim’s head with their left hand, grabbing them by the chin and peels their head back, exposing the throat.
Without hesitation, the Prior snarls as he *sinks his right fingers into the exposed neck, tightens, and tears out their throat with a spray of blood*.
The victim clutches at their ruined throat with bloodied gurgles, as the Prior discards the clump of flesh in his hand to retrieve his weapons, whilst his victim collapses to the ground.
‘Just Die Already!’
- Long Length
- Backstab: Yes
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: Decapitation
The Black Prior twists the sword in the victim’s chest/back, then proceeds to drive it into the hilt. Releasing the sword, the Prior stands back with a laugh, only to see the victim relatively still alive.
Grunting in annoyance, the Prior kicks a leg out from under them, causing them to fall forward/backward onto the sword handle with a tearing of flesh, suspending them at an angle. The Prior watches, only to let out another frustrated grunt as the victim paws at the ground (if a backstab, the victim grasps the sword blade protruding through their chest)- weakly, but very much still alive.
Shaking his head and cursing in latin, the Prior takes the kite shield in both hands and stands directly over them, lifting it up, before bringing it down on their neck, *decapitating them* (if a backstab, the victim will weakly lift his arms for mercy).
The Prior looks over their shield, sees the victim has stopped moving, and nods sharply to themself, before grabbing the sword, turning the corpse over and pulling it from them.
‘Hold the Line!’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Black Prior’s victim shoves the Prior away from them, much to the Prior’s surprise (if a backstab, the victim pulls himself off the blade, and turns to face the Prior).
Sensing an instant attack, the Prior assumes the Bulwark posture as the victim weakly throws themselves on the Prior, levelling a ferocious barrage of weak punches onto the shield.
The Prior’s leg seems to be on the verge of giving way, but with a long, hateful shout, the Prior stands tall and brings the shield down into the victim’s shin- pushing the leg the wrong way- before casting outwards and throwing the enemy considerable distance away, collapsing to their hands and knees with their back to the Prior.
Wasting no time, the Prior stalks forwards and *drives his sword through the nape of their skull*, the blade protruding from their mouth, before tearing it free and letting them collapse.
Hitokiri
‘Splitting Hairs’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Hitokiri tears their masakari from their victim, and with a chilling hiss, swings the axe around and into the ground behind them at an angle- exactly the same to the ‘Sole T’ emote and ‘Reigi’ signature.
The Hitokiri then grabs their victim’s shoulders, and throws them down to the ground, narrowly avoiding splitting their skull on the upturned axe head by inches. Resting on their hands, the victim tries to stand, only for the Hitokiri to press their foot down on the back of their head and push.
In seconds, the victim’s head is *pushed onto the axehead with a wet crack, all the way until it is nearly touching the Hitokiri’s foot*. With a low hiss, the Hitokiri then steps off the corpse, grabs the masakari, and tears it backwards from the ground,- horrifically craning the victims neck back with a snap as the axe is wrenched from their skull.
‘On Your Knees’
- Short Length
- Backstab: Yes
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: Decapitation
The Hitokiri adjusts the grip of their right hand on the masakari, closer to the head, and with a hollow growl of “On your knees!” in Japanese, forces down on the axe, driving them to their knees with a wet splatter.
Tearing the axe free, the Hitokiri slowly and steadily presses the axehead to their victim’s neck- who do nothing but wait for the inevitable- before they do a simple scything swing, *beheading them* and sending their stiff corpse to fall to the ground.
‘What A Drag’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Hitokiri savagely backhands their victim off the masakari, causing them to collapse onto their front. Weakly, they begin attempting to crawl away.
Staying exactly where they are, the Hitokiri lifts and brings down the masakari with a bone crunching splatter into the victim’s back, paralysing them.
The Hitokiri then sadistically pulls back, hissing “One cannot escape death.” (if female)/ “Nothing can save you.” (if male) in Japanese, scraping the victim across the floor who pathetically scrabbles to free themselves until they are halfway under the Hitokiri’s legs’.
Tearing the axe out in a flourishing arc, the Hitokiri raises the axe one final time with a chilling howl, before bringing it down into the *back of their head, splitting their skull almost cleanly in half*. Muttering quietly to themselves, the Hitokiri casually steps away from the body, dragging the axe out of the corpse’s head.
‘Spin Cycle’
- Short Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: Yes
Dismemberment: Right Arm
The Hitokiri tears out the masakari at an upward angle to simultaneously strike the victim in the face with the axe pommel, and wastes no time to turn with the momentum and swing it sidelong into the victim’s right side of their chest, *severing the arm in a spray of blood* and wedging the axe head into the flesh of their body.
With a ghostly hiss, the Hitokiri brutally takes a firm grasp of the shaft, and tears the axe out in a flourish with great violence, enough to throw the victim into the air and spin a few times before crashing to the ground a fair distance away, their corpse rolling a few cycles and trailing blood.
Jormungandr
‘Chiropractor’
- Short Length
- Backstab: Yes
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Jormungandr howls as they swing their hammer in a low sweep into the victim’s shins, knocking the legs out from under them and causing them to crash bodily onto the front/back.
With a brash laugh, they take their hammer in a reverse grip and place the hammerhead on the victim’s face/back of the head, before viciously lifting their foot, and *driving it down onto the hammer, crushing the victim’s skull with a loud splatter*.
The Jormungandr then spits on the corpse, and takes a normal grip on their hammer.
‘The Grinder’
- Long Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Jormungandr’s victim staggers forward, and throws a weak punch with the left hand. Alas, the Viking cultist grabs the offending limb by the wrist. Adjusting their grip on the hammer below the head, the Jormungandr straightens the victim’s arm and brutally jabs the hammer underside their elbow, breaking the arm with a sickening snap.
As the victim clutches at their ravaged limb with silent agony, the Jormungandr releases the arm, and then jabs the hammer directly onto their right kneecap, pushing the leg inwards with another snap and dropping them awkwardly onto a one-legged kneel.
The Jormungandr then hammers an uppercut with the exact same grip upwards into the victim’s face, shattering their nose and jaw and throwing them onto their back. With their arm, leg and face destroyed, the victim violently spasms in pain.
Taking the hammer in a one-handed grip by the bottom of the haft, the Jormungandr brings it down into their ribcage with a loud crack, which causes the victim to lurch forwards and clutch their chest with their remaining arm.
Wrenching the hammer free and before the victim can fall back onto the ground, the Jormungandr takes the hammer in a two-handed grip, and gives a loud scream of “DIE!” in Icelandic, before bringing it down in an almighty swing *directly into the top of the victim’s head with a bloody crack*. The corpse goes stiff, and the Jormungandr jerks the hammer a few times with sickening cracks to free the hammer on the third pull, the broken body crumpling to the ground.
‘Knock It On The Head’
- Short Length
- Backstab: Yes
- Ledge Capability: Yes
- Dismemberment: None
The Jormungandr brings their hammer around in a one-handed swing straight into the side of the left kneecap (right kneecap if a backstab) of the victim with a loud smash of bone, dropping them onto a knee.
With their freehand, the Jormungandr grabs the victim’s right shoulder (left if a backstab) and takes their hammer in a reverse grip, before driving it like a piston into the victim’s face (back of the head with a backstab) *with loud, wet clangs, killing them on the second strike*.
With the victim stiff and dead on a knee, the Jormungandr then releases the shoulder and brutally kicks out with his foot, shoving the corpse onto the ground.
‘You’re The Nail’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: Decapitation
The Jormungandr succumbs to an instant frenzy, and taking his hammer just below the head, begins to rain a series of skull-shattering punches, uppercuts and downward bashes onto the victim’s head with wet, bloody splatters, screaming at the top of their lungs.
On the fifth blow, the victim begins to spasm and crumble to his knees from the fury of the assault, the Jormungandr now taking a wider grip on his hammer to deliver more brutal striking force.
On the tenth blow, the victim collapses completely on his front in a pool of blood, his body twitching and spasming.
The Jormungandr eyes the body with a growl, and upon watching it twitch for a few moments, rains two more long-grip swings onto the head, *the second completely obliterating the skull and decapitating the victim*. The body twitches a second longer, before it finally subsides in a pool of blood and skull matter.
Zhanhu
‘The Firefly’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: Yes
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: Decapitation
The Zhanhu keeps their changdao impaled in their victim, and instead uses it to reel the enemy closer to the point they are almost touching. Removing one hand from the dao, the Zhanhu draws out the spiked bolo of the Qilin Ruse, and wraps it around the victim’s neck- the spiked head cracking into and embedding into their cheek.
Turning their hip, the Zhanhu sidekicks the victim off their greatsword, causing them to stagger back considerably. With their other hand still free, the Zhanhu draws the flare gun used to trigger Scorching Deluge, and fires it at the victim, igniting both them and the Qilin Ruse in a bombastic explosion.
The victim violently spasms and flails on the spot as their body is engulfed in flames, much to the Zhanhu’s amusement- who stores the flare gun, and draws a Fiery Tusk.
He gives the victim one last look-over, before hurling the Tusk underside for a headshot. The explosive knife impacts, *blasting the victim’s head apart in a shower of fiery gore*. The Zhanhu lets out an entertained laugh as the smouldering, headless body collapses.
‘A Close Shave’
- Medium Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Zhanhu tears out their changdao, and promptly smashes their right forearm into the victim’s face, knocking them on their back.
Grabbing the spine of the dao’s blade in their left hand whilst holding the handle in the right, the Zhanhu drops onto their knees and straggles the victim, before trying to unceremoniously press the changdao through their throat.
The victim grabs the blade, and a short struggle ensues between Wu Lin and victim, but ultimately, the Zhanhu presses down- embedding the sword into the flesh of their neck. The victim’s struggling all but stops, but not before the Zhanhu *tears the blade sidelong to their right, ripping open the throat in a spray of blood*.
The Zhanhu pushes themself to a stand, grunting in exertion as the victim weakly clutches their throat.
‘You’ve Got Red On You’
- Short Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: No
- Dismemberment: None
The Zhanhu tears the changdao out to the left, before immediately swinging to the right, opening the victim’s belly and simultaneously slashing open their left wrist. The victim clutches their opened stomach for a moment before snapping their gaze up to see the Zhanhu coming around for another swing to the left.
Raising their right hand for mercy, the sword catches and opens their right wrist in another spray of blood. Embraced in shock and rapid blood loss, the victim collapses to their knees,- the Zhanhu chambering another strike by shouldering the sword on their left.
The Zhanhu gives a cruel, taunting remark in mandarin (“You’re bleeding.” if male/”You’ve got red on you.” if female) before snapping the chambered strike outwards, *slicing open their throat* and causing the victim’s head to snap back with an arterial spray. The Zhanhu lets out a rewarding chuckle as the victim crumples into a large pool of their own blood.
‘Martial Prowess’
- Long Length
- Backstab: No
- Ledge Capability: Yes
- Dismemberment: None
The Zhanhu tears out their changdao, and plants it into the ground like a flag beside them. Assuming a rapid posture, the Zhanhu immediately rockets two punishing chops to his victim’s chest and diaphragm, causing their body to rock and heave, before following up with a swift right elbow into the throat that produces a wet crack.
The Zhanhu chops the arm that threw the elbow downwards, chopping straight into the victim’s face with another snap. The victim recoils, and the Zhanhu takes advantage by grasping their flailing left arm, and using it to drag the victim into their controlled grasp, before maneuvering them face-first into the pommel of the planted changdao with a loud metallic ring.
Twisting the arm, the victim is unwillingly lurched forwards, and the Zhanhu retrieves their changdao, who skilfully twists it, before driving the pommel straight into the victim’s gut. The Zhanhu then slashes at a downward angle- slicing through the victim’s left knee and causing them to drop into an awkward kneel.
Capitalising on the momentum, the Zhanhu viciously slashes them straight up the middle with a bloody flourish, turning the blade when it reaches high in the air, and rapidly bringing it down into the victim’s right collarbone.
The Zhanhu cruelly takes the changdao in both hands, wrenches the sword at an upward angle, and launches out a *sidekick that launches the now-dead victim from the blade* considerable distance with a loud shout, finishing in a pose similar to that of the ‘Sword Master’ emote.
