Aside from the numerous bugs in FC5, this is my biggest gripe.
Unlike FC3 and FC4 it doesn't make you explore. By that I mean, it doesn't have a plethora of loot chests and such to hold your interest when going from A to B. Instead the journeys are pretty much threadbare and I ended up fast travelling mostly which begs the question, why have a map in the first place?. Why not have a drop down menu instead?
Don't get me wrong, apart from the odd criticism, the combat area of the game is great but I think FC5 focuses on this too much and creates an imbalance compared to its predecessors. Even the missions aren't as good and that especially applies to the hunting ones.
I don't dislike it entirely but it's a backward step in contrast to the previous two where creativity and variety were key elements in terms of gameplay.
FC4 loot chests were a joke. They turned a FPS into a tedious collectathon.
Also the loot was utterly pointless, other than to sell for a few dollars, and there were much better ways to make money (such as the driving side-missions). The chests ultimately just littered the map and were nothing more than an annoyance.
Personally I think FC5 is a giant leap forward over FC4 in many regards, and am VERY happy they got rid of the useless loot spam.

So of course the focus is going to be the combat. That's the whole point of the game!
i agree that combat should remain highest level focus of the game i do not wish for them to make it a less priority but that is not to say i do not want them to add for us more reason to explore
one does not have to come at the cost of the other and in fact it is very much my preferance that one would instead result in the other
one way they could do this is to have hidden enemy camps or hideouts that are not marked by a icon on the map but instead are found through exploration and then you get in a bit of a gunfight and maybe find some nice reward like a weapon or upgrade of some kind
it is foolish to think that the price of exploration is a reduction in focus on combat honestly the combat could use a bit of spicing up and improvement as well
I'm referring to the comparison with FC3 and FC4.Originally Posted by St.Million Go to original post
FC3 raised the level in terms of variation and FC4 followed on from that and I'm not just talking about loot chests. With FC5 the standard has dropped in that sense. Some of the missions are a joke too. I can think of a few that took me about 30 seconds to complete. As for that list you compiled of FC5 features, half of those I didn't encounter until late in the game.
Actually, I though of this idea myself so obviously I would agree with it. As for the combat I'm not wishing for less, just a similar balance of varied gameplay like FC3 and FC4 had.Originally Posted by Gr4nt8r0dy Go to original post
