Maybe this is what GRB needs too ? Not sure, but surely something needs to be done.Anthem reportedly set for major overhaul as BioWare looks to reboot its troubled game
But there's no timeline for delivery yet.

Since its rocky launch in February, BioWare's online shooter Anthem has struggled to spin its story into a positive one, particularly in light of continued development difficulties and the departure of high-profile team members. However, despite persistent speculation that BioWare and publisher EA might quietly abandon the game, the developer is reportedly now looking to massively overhaul the experience ready for a future reboot.
According to a Kotaku's Jason Schreier, plans to overhaul the troubled shooter have been in the works for some time. Eurogamer has previously heard similar word from its own sources.
Kotaku says the project is referred to as both "Anthem Next" and "Anthem 2.0", and as those names suggest, the scope of BioWare's intended plans are substantial, with the developer reportedly leaving little untouched. Changes to loot, quests, difficulty, progression, the world map, social elements, and possibly even the entire game structure have all been mooted.
According to one source, BioWare teams in both Austin and Edmonton have spent several months "just tearing [Anthem] down and figuring out what needed to change fundamentally (a lot)." Work on implementing those changes is said to have been ongoing for several months.
Although specifics are still hazy (a source said there's "lots of testing things out and experimentation but still nothing concrete"), one person told Kotaku that BioWare may attempt to separate its map into smaller chunks to enable the team to play around with each one more freely without the constant worry of introducing map-wide bugs.
Additionally, it's giving consideration to "what a mission technically is", which could see Anthem abandoning the need to return to Fort Tarsis at the end of each quest to better integrate the disparate parts of the game.
There's currently no timeline for the advent of Anthem 2.0, however, and discussions are still ongoing about how such a significant overhaul might be delivered.
Options include smaller updates to the current game over an extended period of time or as one large update, and there's reportedly even talk of launching it as a brand-new game, albeit not one that current players would be expected to pay full-price for.
In a recent community update, BioWare's head of live services Chad Robertson told fans that the developer had heard their "concerns on core issues in Anthem and are acting on it", but that addressing these points would require "a more thorough review and re-working [of systems] versus quick fixes", aligning with today's report.
With no official word on a potential Anthem reboot, however, it maybe some time before we learn if declarations of the game's demise have indeed been greatly exaggerated.
Aren't they already planning on doing that, as quoted from the moving forward post "In line with this vision and the feedback we received, we are working on a more radical and immersive version of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. We also want to let you tailor your experience to the way you want to enjoy the game, since freedom of choice has always been part of the Ghost Recon DNA." So just guessing based on that wording, I personally think they're gonna make some form of "ghost mode" for Breakpoint without tiered loot and the survival mechanics tuned up to 11, but will that make the game have a comeback is the real question.
Square Enix learned their lesson when releasing Final Fantasy XIV. The remade version was and still is a very good game.

This will sound like a very controversial idea, and not anything Ubisoft want to hear...but how about making a modern, tactical military shooter?
I mean, in this game you tried to merge all your titles into a overmonetized bugridden lil wayne sponsored mess, but that one didnt quite fly, did it?
Of course, sofa jockey and some of the division fanboy love this game, because looter shooters is life looter shooters is love.....but the rest of us are just disappointed beyond words.
And I know how surreal it sounds when I say it out loud, but how about going back to basics, like CoD did in their latest game? A proper, fun, modern, polished murder-fest of a game, Im not saying you should try to be more like them, just more like Ghost recon, if you want to rescue the brand that is...
Agreed. The story could have been that Sueno escaped custody after being transferred to a south american country (as per the end of the "good" final cut scene in Wildlands) and then secretly funded Skell Tech, attempting to rise again and complete his vision of a narco country, but this time supported by high tech drones and 'elite' mercenaries instead of the street gang cannon fodder he used last time. It could have been set in another South American country, or maybe one of the ex-Soviet republics. Somewhere in South East Asia would also have worked - Cambodia possibly.Originally Posted by postwick Go to original post
The existing 'behind enemy lines' theme could have been included: Sueno would be expecting another visit from his worst enemies once it became known that he'd re-constituted his forces and could easily have used his new high-tech gear and elite mercenary forces to ambush the incoming Ghost teams. Hell there's 100 different ways the story beginning could have been written that would have made 10x more sense than the beginning of Break Point Does. Los Extranjeros as the re-constituted and now even more high-tech mercenary force would have worked perfectly for this: they were what made Fallen Ghosts such a great DLC for Wildlands and again I feel their story could have done with a sequel.
I thought Sueno himself was a very well thought out, nicely written & very well voice acted antagonist, blending his bizarre religion with his personal vision of a narco-state. The direction I see Break Point going in - evil CIA operatives plotting to overthrow the free wold - is by now a very, very tired trope that's been massively over used and really lacks imagination. The Santa Blanca story was something really different which I enjoyed very much. Break Point could have been a very successful sequel to the story from Wildlands.
I am enjoying Break Point... for the most part... but it's true that it "fixes" way too many things that were not broken in Wildlands.
