    Punish spam

Ubisoft really needs to do something to punish or discourage spam, maybe a damage reduction if the same move is done over and over, idk.
Is sad to see a rep 30+ Orochi doing light spam everytime because it works (for the most part and in console).
That's a problem that at low to mid level of this game is frustrating and boring, and almost every character can spam to some degree, some are more successful at it.

They made playing on the console nightmare. You cant parry something you cant react. Everybody gets light spammed to death everybody. Once he starts attacking there is no stopping even if you manage to block and thinking it's my turn to attack he manages to attack before me I dont know how that works. Worst thing orochi gets revenge so quickly. I literally just played he blocked 3 attacks boom revenge light spammed both of us to death. Orochi used to be technical now just one dimensional and boring.

    Same BS with Aramusha.

That, in general, is not correct but solely depending on lobby and usage of televisions. When latency is bad, light spam is a nightmare. When latency is good, you just punish with maybe slightly lower success then you might have had on PC. With a bad television though, you suffer high display lag. Nothing wrong with console, nothing wrong with your lobby, but when you add another 75ms delay to your setup that others just don't have, you know your in for a bad time. Options: monitors, TVs with max 25ms display lag.

I play with a TV that's at 21ms display lag and parry Zhanhu 400ms lights 4 out of 5 times when connections are very good. On console.

As a high Rep Orochi I can tell you the best way to deal with light spam is go into the practice arena and spawn an Orochi or Shaolin (really any character with crazy fast lights) and set them to throw their light chains. Do this for a few days and I promise you will improve . Learn the animations and don't rely on the indicator. Also learn which attack comes out fastest. Noob Orochi's spam the top light because its the fastest one and the second is guaranteed. Always block top and if you see red coming from the top parry.
The side lights you should be able to at least block on reaction. It's not easy and it requires some practice but spending some time in the training arena will help tremendously. Players that spam bashes that cannot be punished are far more annoying than light spammers in my opinion. The more reps you get and the more time you spend the easier it will become. I remember as a new player I thought Aramusha's light chains were absolutely impossible to deal with, now I would have to try to lose to one (unless they are just gods). Hope this helps !!

Thanks, I'll try that. Really light parry isn't my strong side lol.

I've been having issues with the light spam in this game for a while, I've played since release so the practice route hasn't really helped me personally, to me it's like playing rock paper scissors, I can guess which direction will be next and if I get it right, and time it right, I get a parry, but usually take the worse of the trade.

The thing that I found worked was moving to a hero with hyper armor, or a hero with a fullblock. If they are mashing L1 like a chimp, then it's pretty easy to get a full block in after the end of a chain, I don't play Hitikiri but his HA was pretty good before his nerf, it may still be good enough now.

Try using one of the fullblock characters, once you catch an Orochi or light spammer with a couple of full blocks they usually stop spamming.

That's why I was using Hito before the nerf it was helping me a lot. Now she gets interrupted by light or GB on charged heavies.

As for are practice I parry most of lights on training but it doesnt go that way on matches.

Lol it will take some time. I promise if you spend at least 10 minutes warming up in the training menu before each session you will improve your light parrys. Also make a mental note of how your opponent opens up.. We are creatures of habit and if you notice a player inititates with a side light a a few times , they will probably continue to do it, especially new players. Also a good tip against noob orochi is feint ALOT . They are conditioned to do dodge attacks on any indicator and those are easy light parry's that you can punish with big damage. Now against higher reps this won't work most of the time but you can still catch them. Problem is Orochi literally has no way to get damage in without using their lights. No bash, no unblockables so its pretty tough. Imagine playing a Conq without out ever using his shield bash or a Warden without the Shoulder bash.
    Hope this helps my dude!!
