This hero needs to be more vulnerable to counterattack, and less able to punch consistently....
Fact is, you want to make this hero balanced... do one thing... make it so he cannot knock you down with the punch. That's all. And balanced.
He doesn't need soft fient. He doesn't need anything else. I see plenty of plaeyrs daily who can f up everyone in the match. HE DOESNT NEED IMPROVEMENT. He needs to NOT BE ABLE TO KNOCK DOWN PEOPLE WITH REVENGE ON!!!!!! That is damn ridiculous....
Come one Ubi… Do some realy work on this hero and ACTUALLY balance him... Don't just go to the PTS and say, oh, they didn't like it... the only people going on PTS to test the Centurion are people who are fanboys of centurion, who will complain about ANY change, because they KNOW this hero has been broken since the day he came out and ROMAN smiled and laughed at the community for saying he was broken, and admitted it on air....
This isn't an opinion, its fact. Sure MAYBE the top 1 percent of players find a way to beat him with lawbringer and Tiandi… but omg, the rest of us regular players have to put up with these trolls. Its awful. Fix him. ITS BEEN YEARS now.
There's a rework coming his way, it was on public test some time ago but they decided to keep working on it. As far as I know, the rework should come this season and it should change around a few things. Until then, we wait.
Btw. I think Cent in its current state is pretty well "duelable": his kick is dodgeable and you can guardbreak him (guaranteed) and his charged attacks are pretty limited in timing. His attacks can overall be easily parried or dodged. He's really super strong when it comes to ganking (charging jab while someone's revenging) but that's hopefully going to be addressed.
I agree with you that something needs to be done with cent, but nothing else you said. Cent, as it stands, is a noob stomper and not much else (besides a bit cheesy against anyone with revenge, though i think bashes/knockdowns shouldn't affect revenge anyway). He is actually quite weak and super reliant on his cutscene combo, hence the issue we ran into when we made it not guaranteed: He has no other good way to damage players. His heavies hit for lackluster damage and even the charged ones are pretty easy to avoid, since he suffers from t-rex arm syndrome all you have to do is stay a medium distance and only parry if they let the charged heavy fly. His punches and kicks are pretty easily dodgeable and his lights are currently laughably bad, so much so most cents don't use them.
The purpose of the test phase was to see if what they did to his middle game was enough to warrant the removal of the cutscene, but brought to light the glaring issue that that move is his major means of removing hp, and the fights became too long for him to sustain. It isn't as simple as "just make it so his punch doesn't knock you down" doing so removes a core move in his kit or renders it almost unusable. It wasn't that nobody liked the rework, it was actually that it didn't quite work the way they had it. So they took a step back and saw that they needed to redesign this character FAR more in depth than swapping some numbers. His middle game is crap, he relies far too much on baiting out parries or using easily dodged bashes to go into a gimmicky combo that does the only high amount of damage in his kit. before resetting to neutral to do it all over again.
Imagine complaining about the LOWEST tier character in the entire game... Wow. Centurion as he stands right now, needs a major buff, needs his unblockable to TRACK and to be feintable. As for the knock down punch, it will never land in a 1v1 situation. He has 0 openers. I personally can't wait until the rework comes in, it's frustrating playing as him as he has absolutely no openers whatsoever.
Stop complaining about a character with no openers, and get good at the game.
People do complain about Centurion for that very reason.Originally Posted by Lord.Warden. Go to original post
Since he has no opener most centurions simply play full turtle in order to reach the cutscenes.
As of right now it's bad both for the centurion player and his enemy.
If we're lucky we'll get it before the end of the year or at the beginning of next year as already said in the warrior's den.
