So as the title states, I am unable to launch the game because of an error that pops up after I press Play
This messages states "Unable to start the game. Please check that your game has been installed correctly. If the problem presists, please contact Ubisoft Support."
After I re-located my files and try to launch it, it says the same message.
I have verified, I have reinstalled.
I also have the latest windows update and my drivers are updated.
Hi there, sorry you are experiencing this issue while attempting to launch For Honor. So we can look to getting this resolved could we first ask that you have attempted our basic troubleshooting steps as outlined here.
If you are still receiving this error after completing these steps, could you please provide your system reports by following the steps in this FAQ.
Had problems starting game happen today, 3 hours ago.
Been running game W/o issues until today. Short answer, its EasyAntiCheat.
EasyAntiCheat is not repairing / or uninstalling properly or complete, or will it reinstall correctly.
Do not uninstall your game. *
Unistall EasyAntiCheat - THEN Delete all EasyAntiCheat folders- THEN run a registry search for this KEYWORD EasyAntiCheat without any spaces, spelled exactly like i printed here.
I dont work for Ubisoft but i know a bad program when i see it.
After you have cleared your system of this EasyAntiCheat, you will need to perform a ColdBoot, using a CMD Line -
Performing a real shut down in Windows COMMAND
Shutdown /s /t 0
If this is your first time using this comand, you will probably see lots of neat stuff happen, like incomplete drivers install, files refresh, and updates start/finish
What the command does is close ALL open/Hybrid sessions in windows.
Similair to Disabling FastBoot but not really.
Now head to the place you verify For Honor Files, make sure you under Admin Settings, and Verify.
EasyAntiCheat will reinstall along with any other repairs. You should now finally see a Verify Repair Button appear. Congrats
Now head over to EasyAntiCheat Website , click support, and disable Debugging Kernel and everything else EAC has to say about troubleshoting. Enjoy your game.
Hope this helps, like i said, im self-employed. Cheers![]()
Thanks for sharing tips that worked for you here, PlebsFuzzyCack. Reinstalling EasyAntiCheat itself is a good shout if there are any specific error messages that refer to it - and also testing launching the game in a clean boot environment on a new administrator user profile.
To MILFKensei as well - if you have seen issues persist after following the troubleshooting provided by my colleague, do let us know so that we can investigate this further with you.![]()
