You can be toestabbed to death by gladiator, attacked by 3 people, and you still wont get revenge. How on earth can you justify this garbage system as usable? The tag system straight up isn't working. Revenge needs to be proximity based, not based on how many people hit you.
Yeaaa,that's probably not going to happen,even though it's totally logical. This is my theory. Over the three years the game has consistently rewarded toxic players. Extremely long fixes has contributed to this,causing a snowball effect. So what we ended up with is a game with the majority of players having fun using broken mechanics and taking advantage of the many many programming flaws.I mean,this is the only game that has ever existed where having a huge latency actually gives you an advantage. Soooo, it stands to reason that every gamer with bad internet or knows how to manipulate it will love this game and play it a lot. If they fixed a lot of it now,they will lose at least 70 percent of their player base. They simply can't afford to lose that many. So they've effectively painted themselves in a corner. My advice,glads toe poking you to death? Pick a glad,toe poke them to death. It sucks,but what else can you do?
Revenge is so inconsistent its ridiculous. I see people blocking 2 attacks getting revenge. Then I get ganked by 3 people for good few minutes with no revenge whatsoever. Then another stupid thing is you fight one to one then enemy goes down to 5gp and you will get your teammates literally touching him blocks one attacks then boom revenge even if he never lands an attack on you and you land your every hit. I think they should remove revenge all together so you know you dont expect it. If they cant get this right in 3 years I dont think they ever will.
On pc- half of my inputs for revenge just do not trigger.I got a high latency gaming keyboard and mouse. And it still wont go off in 70% of cases. I activate revenge i still get hit, or stunned, or knock backed- its so bad i have to trigger revenge early and waste opportunities because of having to hit R somes times 3/ 4 times to get it to work.
And revenge meter is weird, its really bad for a fighting game
9 times out of 10, i'm being ganked and I dont get revenge. It's so frustrating when you completely butcher the system, then leave it in a broken state. You need to get rid of the whole tag system, it straight up doesn't work. In needs to be proximity based. Or based on who is locked onto you.
I got a chance to play again recently after taking about a month off and it feels like Revenge is very inconsistent right now. I know there are feats that can increase revenge rate, but I've seen instances where I barely even touch an opponent with one of my teammates and they get revenge instantly and all of their actions become uninterruptable including GB's through me even when I am light attacking them. Then on the flip side, I am ganked by 4 opposing players with bashes, unblockables, ringing nails, etc. my revenge never comes up or I get it last minute and I press Revenge (Triangle on PS4) 2 or 3 times and it doesn't activate. On the rare occasion that I am able to get my Revenge I start attacking and my opponents just GB and throw me in to an environmental hazard through my attacks. I think it is ok for Revenge to provide a little extra shield and health, but what seems to be a problem is when many just start spamming their zone attacks, their attacks are sped up with extra damage, and they become unblockable when they are not locked on to you, so they just play to activate their revenge mode. Oh well, I guess that's what the game has become now.
