I'm trying to play a Ubisoft game bought on Steam, but the Uplay Launcher is giving a headache. I've never experienced something like this before.
It just runs extremely slow. I'm trying to type my username and password and it takes 30 SECONDS for a character to appear on screen. Not to mention the fact it takes a minute to even minimize or show the "Remember Me" box ticked. It's absolutely insane.
I have tried everything. Letting Steam auto-install uPlay, downloading uPlay from the Ubisoft site and installing it manually multiple times. It's always the same.
How can I fix this issue? I just want to play the game I bought.

Do you get the same problem if you run Uplay with Admin rights and also disable background apps?
It could be linked to do with your specific configuration and setup.

If you are still getting the same issue after this, can you please set up a case on our support site and upload text copies of your DXDiag and MSInfo files so we can look deeper into this.
Or maybe it's your poorly coded Game Launcher. I have six game launchers on my PC and yours is the only one that is not working properly.
I think I'll just avoid Ubisoft games like the plague from now.
This is what happens when you try to force another launcher to people who buy the game on a different store.
Agreed, with other fellow gamers....they are not alone on this.
Uplay is running extremely slow.
Honestly, I dont even bother looking at the Shop section. im just running the game i have and thats about it.
and by the way; I really dont care if you guys fix it or not....looks like you never resolved this thread.
I will just avoid going to shop,
just like i've been avoiding for last one year because of this issue and not interested buying any game from ubi.
because going through a purchase on uplay desktop app is extremely slow.
Fun fact: did you guys know that Uplay is faster on Browser compare to desktop app ?

As we aren't seeing this with a majority of players, could you confirm for us what OS you are using and I assume you have the latest version of the Client installed from https://uplay.ubisoft.com/en-GB
Did you install the Client yourself or was it included from a game you purchased/installed?
well... Apperently now i have the exact same issue as the previous guys has addressed in 2021.
i have reinstalled ubisoft connect 5 times installed it to my HD and SSD drive yet no cigar. now i have finally finished scanning my computer for any form of malicious software and i did not really find any nor did this fix the issue.
When i open ubisoft connect "with admin" it just runs so slow that i can barely login it would take me approx 10 min just to enter my logins. i'm currently out of ideas of how to solve this nor does there seem to exist a solution in this thread...
what do you suggest?

i have rated the thread "bad" since the issue didn't get a solid fix, however other people made me aware that i'm not alone so its not terrible
