    Peaceful Protest Against FH Developers

    Dear friends,
First of all, a huge thanks Jason Vandenberghe, the founder of For Honor who delivered unbelievable and exciting gaming experience to many of us who we're looking for such kind of content.

I am one grown-up kid (in my 30-ties) and to be honest with you I Love Gaming. I love when I can meet up with old and new friends spending quality time together.
For Honor was the game that I was dreaming for but in the past few months the development is not going very well for quite a small fraction of us. Since they changed the Gear Stats with Perks, the managers promised to bring up the skill of the players rather than their options to forge up a stronger hilt, blade or armour but that didn't happen. It gets worse and worse with each attempt to satisfy the corporate needs for money of UbiSoft. Just to make clear guys, the gaming world should be fun and equal to all or at least that is the reason behind most of the gamers joining each day.

    - When we will have a platform that could make the bug-reporting easier and will encourage the player to report rather than deleting the game 4ever?
No one is educating. No one is listening. How can we help? No one knows.

    - Who are you kidding guys? 20mill players?
Have a look at the Steam Charts https://steamcharts.com/app/304390#All

    • 11 positives
    • 22 negatives
    • player base is decreasing and there is no growth potential since the release of the game. Why? No one care about our gaming experience and most of the players are leaving forever. Smurfs are crushing the rookies, OP heroes are killing the game from inside.

We moan about the so-called State of Balance. The piece of **** you try to sell us on Warrior's Den. Such a thing does not exist currently.

    -Why?

Because balance means "an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady."

Please, save the game. Please, don't make us leave. Please, respect us as we respect you. Please, ask us what do we think about the changes more often. Please, ask us how are we going to feel if you change this or that before you do it, and please evolve the characters who remained behind for the past few months.
    • Peacekeeper is slower than Hitokiri, BP and many others.
    • Orochi has the weakest defence and out-dated kit of them all. 2-3 hits and no more stamina?
    • Hitokiri has too much hyper-armor. 2fast lights.
    • BP can do only 3 things: Bash, Light, Throw - all day long, each day... 24/7 - wtf?
    • Jorm can easily spam punch, light, punch, light, and he is not being punished for that but the opponent will be.

Many of my mates 14-45 years left 4ever.
I have 2 discord servers with 200 people playing For Honor.
I am trying to be helpful as much as I can by reporting, asking, assisting, recruiting players.
1000+ hours PvP on console and PC

Should I still try to be part of For Honor or someone will just tell me to "f-off you don't know how to fight/play" and I'll follow my friends?
Should I close my discord servers and Facebook pages and advise my followers to do the same? Does anyone care about how can we help? Does anyone care why 200 friends will leave For Honor in the next year?

    Kind regards,
    Rasu

    A couple of notes:
    • The 20 million number is legit in terms of players who have activated the game.
    • The shift away from gear stats was about the gameplay impact of the system.
    • Hitokiri's hyper armor has been pushed back. You can also see all the other balance change from 2.15.0 there at that link. Orochi did get a buff, although it doesn't impact his offense to the extent that you're talking about. PK's been receiving a steady pace of smaller adjustments.
    • If you want to report bugs, please do! And let me know what you have in mind in terms of an easier way of doing it for players. Right now I monitor reddit + the forums.

Thanks for voicing all these concerns!

Rasu you hit it right on the mark. I've felt the same way since season 8. I had originally thought that this game would've been a tactical fighter but ever since they just keep releasing characters with a lack of skill needed (or for some reason you can't even play them tactfully) it has fallen from that original promise that you would not be able to spam and win against higher level players. I myself see the game to have lost it's soul and they no longer take things as seriously as they had before, perhaps they never did but I was too in love with the game to realize. I'm constantly trying to move on from the game (because of the unbelievable rage it causes me at times) but for some reason I end up right where I started, back at the game for no apparent reason.

But to be entirely honest I doubt the game will get actual balancing. Considering that Orochi is still not fighting in the way you'd use a katana, Centurion hasn't been assigned a new moveset that is both fun to play as and against, what was done with Raider's rework back in season 11, and a myriad of other characters it became obvious to me that they don't know what they're doing, and I say this with no disrespect but it's the way I see it. I honestly hope I'm wrong and they get their act together but with what has happened as of late that seems rather unlikely.

Don't get me wrong I'm still in love with the original concept of the game with Vikings, Knights, and Samurai. I probably always will love it to some degree, which is why it hurts so much to see it as it is now. I honestly hope that this game receives the needed help it deserves and I can keep playing it for years to come without having to undergo so much rage.

You are very correct Rasukay. The moderators say they are listening, but they have to. It's their job. The fact is they've gone out of their way to prove they don't. Even before the launch. The beta had dedicated servers. Then before the launch they announced the actual game will be on PVP servers. Everyone, and I mean everyone said that was a terrible idea. They 'listened' and did it anyway. It launched. Turned out it was a terrible idea. For a whole year they 'listened' as we explained the game was unplayable. The devs even tried to blame us ! Their own customers. Amazing 'listening' skills displayed then. So, they 'listening' for a whole year, and also having some dedicated youtubers painfully have to make video after video just to prove to the devs ' it's not us,it's you. Now,in my experience, if you have to tell someone every day to fix something they sold you,and it takes them a year to concede and actually do their job, I don't come away thinking ' what a good listener. They lost many many players that year. They never came back. That's just the first year.
. Second year. Dedicated servers at last. Oooops. They forgot about lag compensation. For a month. Anyone that poked their head back in,shook their heads and were gone. Eventually they installed what they called ' stage 1 lag compensation' , with stage 2 to come. 3 years later we are still waiting for stage 2. Ever had a normal strike go through your block? Ever gone to execute someone and suddenly they're killing you in a blink of an eye ? Now you know why. I have posted 3 threads just on this issue. The moderators 'listened' by ignoring me. The devs 'listened' by doing nothing. Then there was the start of the light spam problem on the console (a problem that still exists). Their response. Arumusha. Remember when he first came out? He was a light spamming god. Great 'listening' skills there. Now that the game was at least playable, people were realising that some characters had a clear advantage, and the line up was unbalanced. They listened. The response? Let's make the new characters op so people buy the season pass. So now the game remains permanently unbalanced. O yes,I almost forgot. The 'out of lock' exploit. They did some top quality 'listening' then. They of course did nothing. It actually took someone winning the official ubisoft tournament using the exploit for them to get off their *** and fix it. Sorry moderators, but that's not proof that they're listening. The gear and perks were changed, which was good. Unfortunately it was at our expense. All steel that was spent on the old gear was gone. Couldn't even pick the perks. I had all characters with perfect armour. New armour, first and last perk on every single one of them. Now that was just bone lazy. It was then it was so obvious the devs did not care about their customers. They only changed it to make more money of us. We complained. Were was the compensation? Yet again ubiSOFT 'listened' by doing nothing. I stopped playing for 9 months.
Third year. Year of waiting months for obvious persistant problems. A still tragic MM system and hell, even the way the lobbies are structured are inferior to every other multiplayer game in existence today. Lots of solutions have been offered. If they're listening, they're doing a bang up job of making it seem otherwise. Ladders were finally fixed. Three years it took them. Ladders. Ladders have been in games since donkey kong. I've also noticed the current moderators are very selective to the topics they 'listen' to. You want a guaranteed response from them? Talk about fluff. Emotes, executions, costumes, armour styles, new weapon skins ect.... are all safe topics and will get a response. In other words, the things they can make money off. Actual fundamental problems are discouraged. These take time and effort and generates no instant cash for the company. Now I don't mean to be disrespectful moderators, but you guys blowing smoke up our asses doesn't really help. You actually used the fact that they finally nerfed the Hito as evidence of their listening. Really? You're obviously not a gamer. All games that are backed by dedicated, competent developers that actually care about their work and their customers, problems are fixed within days, weeks if it is difficult . Not months, years or not at all. Also companies that listen to their customers don't have their stocks crash by 93.8 percent,do they? I personally haven't bought a single ubiSOFT product after buying this game that remained broken for over a year. Looks like I wasn't the only one. And what your lastest trick? You hide the colour white behind a paywall. Damn. That just reeks of desperation. You guys actually went out of their way to prove they have not learnt a single thing. But of course they haven't learnt. Learning usually requires listening.
. On finishing,I know you guys like to say ' don't just complain, give us solutions ' Which we will ignore. My solution. Goggle the word ' listen '

    @Haplo_Bane

I respond to critical threads, like this one, on a daily basis. We can't reply to all threads at all times, but we do our best.

Your post pretty much covers the entire history of For Honor, which makes it difficult to respond to concisely because it features so many different concerns, but I hope you'll continue bringing up your criticisms with the game.

Thanks for the reply UbiInsulin, but I no longer use this forum to try and point out problems, expecting anything to be done about it. I've found it to be an exercise of futility. I only use it now to see what problems people are having. Everyone's having difficulty with Hito. Awesome. I'll play the Hito. Raiders a nightmare. Fine. The Raider I shall play.Soon I'll be running around at top speed with my Orochi. I'm done with thinking this game will ever be balanced. I'm done with thinking this game will ever be fixed to a point where it will ever make it on the competive scene. Those days are gone. When I came back to the game I thought ' right,I'm going to just have fun. If ubiSOFT doesn't want to listen,if they just want to do their own thing and ignore all the reasons why people don't play, fine.' I gathered my old team ( reps now 300-500 ) pick the nastiest op character combo's and absolutely destroy the teams of rep 10-50's the matchmaking seems to think would make a fair, fun and balanced match. The games mechanics are so broken there is literally nothing they can do. But, we have loads of fun and laughs now. I can't say the same for the opposing team. But hey,if the developers don't care, why should we? By the end we usually have one poor bugger stuck with 3 level 1 bots. On the xbox,it has a recent player list. It's always interesting to see what they do after the match. Only about 10 percent stay on for honor (and I'm being very generous with that 10 percent). The reality is,the game won't die. I've been seeing the same players over and over and over again for three years now. We are not going anywhere. On the flip side you very rarely get new players. Even more rare if they stay for more than a week. The new players I do see are usually old players using smurf accounts. Most aren't even being toxic. It's simply quicker to get a match. 2-3 minutes instead of the usual 10 - 20 minutes ( and that's peak hour ). So you guys keep doing what you've been doing. Most people don't care anymore. We'll work around all the bs and have fun anyway. If the devs are genuinely concerned about the game, they need only to check previous threads. They have 3 years of well thought out concerns, solutions and suggestions from many intelligent players. Damn, I've even read threads from actual develepors that were brilliant. You already have all the information you need to make this game better. Kinda the whole point of this thread, isn't it ?

Thank you all for the educated responses.

Here is something that took 2-3 hours to make in terms of questions. Feel free to help me out with vital questions regarding the well being of the game. I will create a separate post for the survey.
