What's the point of "Preference" ?

    Riddle me this:

I'm playing vs AI, with matchmaking turned off, and a "Heart" for Preference on Elimination mode, no "Heart" on Skirmish mode (In the Deathmatch game type). What happens?

Answer: I get back-to-back "Skirmish Matches".

Even "Solo vs AI" I cant play the mode I have "Preferred", why even waste the UI space if it's not going to do anything?
You cant tell me that the "Servers had a priority to fill this 8th spot vs AI in a Skirmish match".

It's vs AI, the match doesnt exist until I send the request to the server for matchmaking. It should ALWAYS (100% of the time) default to my preference when it's just me.
If I didnt have a preference, it should 50/50 the options. If I was in a party or a group, it should math out the Pref vs Non-Pref, but if we have the same preference, it should 100% that preference...

Hi, don't know if you're still interested, but as far as I know it works like this:

You set the preference for, e.g., "Elimination".
    You play the first match.
The "Map selection" offers you 2 "Elimination" games/maps, and 1 "Skirmish" game/map.
If you select nothing, odds are 2 out of 3 that you will get Elimination again.
Should you get "Skirmish" (since there's still a 1 out of 3 chance for that), the game will overwrite your set preference and offer you 2 "Skirmishes" and 1 "Elimination" after the match.

So, the best way to ensure you always play your preferred mode is to quickly select a map for that. Positive side effect: you get to play your favorite maps more often (possibly)

Hope that helps. If not, I'll gladly help.

    Have a nice day everyone
