I have been contemplating writing this post for a while now, reason being I didn't feel like we were heard earlier, but now I want to write some feedback once again and hope it will get somewhere.
First of all, I want to say that I am one of the players who genuinely enjoy the game, I play it every day and for the most part it is an enjoyable experience, but I have encountered a few minor bugs, two of which I want to report because they greatly reduce my experience with the game and they are the only ones that stick on my mind, though you might already know about, and I have some feedback I want to share, especially in the light of CoD release (not that I have played CoD, but I have seen it's gameplay).
First the bugs:
I often experience getting stuck on very small terrain. My character cannot climb where it would make sense for him to climb, and sometimes he cannot even step over a small "sidewalk" sized ledge on the ground. It has been the cause of death or getting spotted on multiple occasions.
After playing PvP, despite having heard this was supposed to be fixed, I lost all my consumables. Every single one of them, and I no longer have access to thermals in PvE at all. I don't know how to fix it and don't really want to try going back into PvP and lose all my consumables again.
The feedback:
The Nightvision is a mess. For the most part, it is harder to see with them on, even in very dark areas, than it is without them. Their simulation should be improved. that also counts for darkness. We want true darkness. Please think of what kind of players you are making your game for.
The survival aspects feel meaningless, but you have already addressed this issue. I just want to add to it by saying that it will feel a bit sad if you add a new "mode" where everything needs to be done again. At the same time, I want to experience the whole game with improved gameplay systems/game design. Maybe it could be an idea, when you get that far, to add a "new game+" mode only resetting the main story. And maybe adding in new missions and such, instead of making a "Mode" so we have to do everything again. Side-missions and cleared bases should be kept as is I believe. And the Battle Pass should have an account-wide progression.
I am not generally negative to the loot system, but after reaching 250 it has become meaningless. I have completely stopped caring about loot, and only go for loot I stumble upon. I want to use the weapons I want to use, since my weapons are for the most part super efficient at what I want them to do, I am not really trying to improve them or change them, though if I stumble upon something with better stats, I will change them out. I just don't go searching for it at all.
The faction missions are a bit bland. I like the concept, but I think maybe reworking it to something more similar to The Division 2 Black Tusk system and the Node system of The Division 2, would work way better and give us the opportunity to impact the game in a meaningful way. Atleast to feel as if what we have an effect on the World.
The AI. A lot of people are unhappy with how dumb the AI are, but a good part of the AI is that they have learned to stay put as well, which is very good. I wanted to comment on this in regard to CoD Modern Warfare 2019. The housebreak mission at night (I am sure you have seen it, or it is very easy to find it on youtube), is a VERY GOOD example of experiences we would like from this game, and I think that is work you could do with the AI. We want to be able to clear a house for instance, instead of just all the ai running for us at the same time and then the corpses pile up. Let them throw grenades and flashes and organize breaching. Let them go prone. Let them stay put and get ready for our breaching, place more of them inside houses. I want that feeling I got from watching CoDs housebreaching sequences. Though the opening sequence also look very nice.
Lastly I want to request some features, in a way. Still they are also feedback.
Appearance. A lot of the customization looks a bit bland. Let us accessorise more. Split up neck and facewear so we can wear a scarf and a balaclava for instance. Give us those things we can have on our backpacks in the Div 2 (not needed, just an example). Maybe do like Steep does and add a few accessory slots where we can, for example, choose between 3-4 accessories to have on our gear, things like strips for cuffing, a batting ram or a huge set of pincers, maybe a medkit or something like that. Look at how your characters look in Siege. Look at how Soldiers look in CoD. Look the Division even, Tarkov and Ready or Not. We want to look authentic, yes, but we also want to look unique. I think that you split nightvision from helmets was a very good step in this direction, that you made patches way more prominent and that you can camo everything just how you want it. Very good steps in the right direction, but I don't believe it is enough. Let is choose which type of kneeguards we want to use for instance, split pants from kneeguards. etc. I also think we would like it if the gear felt more bulky/not so flat. It has gotten way better than it was in Wildlands here as well. But I still think it is not completly enough. Some of the vests are so extremely thin, The helmet doesn't feel like it covers enough of your forehead etc. Also, we want to choose how to wear a certain type of clothing, rather than having to get one piece for folded and one piece for unfolded, one piece for zipped and one piece for unzipped etc. Let us choose.
The breaching system. Someone has said this before, but let us cut fabric, or breach doors. I know it is not easy/done over night. I understand that it might mean that multiple things require a rework, but it would give us that feeling we want. The fantasy of being specops. The specops fantasy comes from doing unconventional things and/or highrisk things. Right now it feels more like a solider fantasy than a specops fantasy.
Rappel and "climbing". There are A LOT of places this could be used. You have a lot of ledges and mountians and houses etc. I think adding this could add a lot to the game in general.
Thanks for the game, I am still enjoying it. Hope my feedback will be heard and that some of it is agreeable.![]()
