Why am I getting paired with people who are clearly an arena above me? | Forums

I've recently noticed that sometimes, I'll be put into a match with someone who's 100 skill points above or below the arena I'm in. I've been fluctuating between arena 9 and 10 lately. But then today, I was put against a player in Legendary Arena and 700 skill points ahead of me. Why did the game put me against someone who clearly at a higher level than me?
