But I am not sure what they can do about the game and what is to be rescued. The fundamental game design is so far off and broken, that I have to wonder how they are wanna do this. What I HOPE they can fix.

    - Gunsmith (would be rather easy to get an actual gunsmith with varied options as player wanted it to be, the assets are there)
    - Quality of Life: Stability, Server/Client-Infrastructure, Bugfixing, Patches, menu-re-design, more options
    - More content (that should be easy) and missions
    - Adding ANY AI to the game (for enemies and the own squad)
    - Fixing the animation system
    - Fixing vehicles

What I doubt that they can fix:
    - Gearscore / Level (that is too deep in the game, I doubt they will re-write fundamental basics, also it wold destroy their ingame shop)
    - RPG-bull**it (also part of the game)
    - Gunplay (fundamentally cheap and broken; physics are non-existent, doubt they will add it)
    - An actual, logical, compelling story (not gonna happen)
    - Get rid of the drones (would be easy, but I doubt it because they had to redo game balance, story and gameplay)
    - Get rid of always-online (again: that is too deep into the game code written, I would assume)
    - Get rid of the atrocious MTX-system in place (not gonna happen, they are relaying on it)
    - Making adjustment to the clothing, gear and animation to the playercharacter (specially to female characters, where gear is not sitting "fit" or "tight" at all)
    - Adding compelling male and specially female nomad-faces to the game

I think you are underestimating the gearscore rework. It's already available in PvP where they level the playing field and in PvE where enemies follow your GS apart from those that a fixed level. Surely it is a simple thing to fix your GS to a level (say 1) which means those that follow you stay at your level throughout. Then all they need to do is tailor the fixed GS enemies to a level that means they are not too OP.

The issue is that the AI are poor no matter what level and don't use any proper tactics to make the difficult; the difficulty is all artificial because they've left it to the GS difference between player and enemy where the bigger the difference, the more accurate and deadly the AI are.

They need a rework of the AI code to make them more difficult tactically particularly these so called top tier operative Wolves. Where's the suppressing fire from GRFS and then flanking or grenades (flashbangs too) trying to flush you out, or proper defensive positioning rather than all walking the same way to their death like lemmings. That's the big rework.

So, we have to wait 1 month (considering title update 1.0.2 was 14 days ago). Very nice. And changelog will be like:

    - fixed the drone deploy
    - adjustments made to firerate

Result: drone deploy will be even more broken than it is now and nobody asked for a firerate adjustments. Nice.

As long as Breakpoint still has the horribly broken and disgusting looter-shooter elements in it, none these updates matter one bit! If Ubi's highest priority is fixing bugs, then they truly haven't understood why the game has a 58% Metacritic score. CEO Guillemots admissions were a start, but it doesn't seem that they understand what needs to be done and fast. And it can be done relatively easily if they choose to admit that the looter-shooter elements have to go.

Ubi, how about you make removing the gear score, looting and magical properties from the weapons and gear your first priority and stop with the excuses?? And fix the ridiculous AI while you're at it. None of the DLC or other side dishes mean one bit as long as you've got a totally broken main game.

If you charge people full price for a retail game, everything should be included in that price. Remove all the paywalls and microtransactions. That will make us "more comfortable."

Looking forward to Ghost Mode 2.0 which will hopefully have a bigger emphasis on the survival aspect (more specifically: injuries being more prevalent) and minimal looter shooter/gear score aspects (the game plays a lot better once you hit GS 250).
    And AI squadmates.
Hopefully the enemy AI gets an upgrade as well.

All that being said it still blows my mind that they thought removing the AI teammates was a good idea. Instead of adding a more in depth order system (compared to wildlands) they removed it completely. Insert confused Jackie Chan here.

The AI is configurable so I don't see a recoding as the only way to change up the game loop and I don't see that taking long. They made a mistake for sure, but I also think they realised that a lot, lot earlier than this week, so we could see a change earlier than expected.

My personal opinion is that options are more likely than a mode as the word "tailor" is specifically used in the update message that came out today.
Enhancing an already in-situ Ai code is EXCEPTIONALLY difficult.

There's some good information via Division 2 presentations that go into far more detail than I can but you're talking months and months of work. Especially if you have to build an Ai to move from "dumb-as-a-brick but working because more HP and More damage" to "Challenging purely because its actually intelligent".

By intimating that the Looter-shooter & gear score system is hard coded its based around that all major aspects of the game mechanics work around that aspect. After some 40 years of gaming, coding etc i can see the monumental task ahead if they're to change Breakpoint from a Looter-shooter based mechnic to a true difficulty level mechanic.

Can't believe what I just read the update on Oct 15 didn't fix a single thing and in fact introduced even more bugs, and now you are saying we can't expect a single fix until the end of November what a G** D*** disgrace. There are bugs and broken mechanics in the game that should be fixed in an ongoing manner asap. The fact some have not already been fixed is mind boggling to me. I'm sorry but the sharp decline in UbiSofts stock has just been justified in one announcement.

    Yongyea has the best response.

The update is troubling for me because with this particular one; have they now given themselves the ability to ghost us until the mid to end of November for any further updates.

Weekly streams with updates would be nice. Biweekly would also be well received.
