It's completely broken how some players use the same combo over and over. I mean how dare they make themselves so predictable? What am I supposed to do? There's just no solution. The hero I'm having trouble with must need a nerf. Mixups are too confusing. I can only parry and punish heavy attacks. no more light attacks. Assasins won't hold still and let me hit them. Heavies hit too hard. Everytime I run out of stamina and dodge away I get grabbed and knocked down. How is that fair?
It seems contradictory to say that the opponent is so predictable and yet you struggle against this allegedly predictable combo because the mixups are confuising, I can't tell whether or not this thread is just a joke, which hero are you referring to?Originally Posted by Pufferwockey Go to original post
If your opponent is being predictable and you're still failing to properly deal with it some of the blame is on yourself.
About the only give I can do here is acknowledge that there is a disparity between heros due to the design/updates of some being head and shoulders above others.
A decent example of this is Raider vs like half the cast. If you compare his offensive/mix up capabilities to some other highly regarded good heros he's actually not that great. But if you compare him to people like orochi, aramusha, highlander, etc he's leagues ahead of them. And this is more because these heros are super poor rather than Raider being a god tier hero.
Fair point, Canadian. The mockery may have been uncalled for. I have logged a lot of hours because this is my go to game for just doing something with my hands while I listen to a podcast or something, so I guess I might not count as casual myself anymore, despite the fact that I'm still only ok at the game and, although I do my best to win, I don't take winning or losing very seriously.
If I don't count as a casual for honor player I certainly do count as casual in all the other games I play. It wouldn't have occurred to me to ask that the rules of those games be changed to make me better at them.
In any case I didn't intend to direct the mockery at frustrated newbies, so I guess I messed up twice with this one. I intended to go after people who are apparently serious enough to know the actual number values of an attacks damage and speed. People who, based on the evidence that they repeatedly lose matches to the same hero or strategy, conclude that it's broken and ask for nerfs, or think they're entitled to tell their opponents how to play. As opposed to treating it as, you know, a game, finding fun in trying to beat a new hero that's too tough, or using the hero they think is the coolest despite it maybe being weaker, and then not acting like losing a for honor match is some kind of injustice.
I dunno, I've always been a little bad at video games, so maybe I'm the weird one when I can lose a few times and think "I haven't figured this out yet," rather than "this game is unfair"
