In fact one of the ways at trying to solve the problem was deleting that folder, unfortunately the result didn't change. I'm going to test the Glipfeed idea once the maintenance ends (let's hope this time we hit the jackpot)Originally Posted by Ubi-Mark. Go to original post
well, I already read that and sadly there's no clue about that type of error fits the symptoms of my issue (as I stated, it just goes as a "Please, wait for downloading the patch" but there's no indication if it's an ECHO, BRAVO, ALPHA or any sort of code (is like trying to sail a boat without any roar or masts, but you feel the wind, so you think you are "sailing"). I just hope the new patch help me to (I know it's weird, because it didn't download a patch at all, no progress or "orange bar over the line") play the game at last.Originally Posted by Glipfeed Go to original post
Tested again in the morning, tha same issue stays (it shouldn't surprise me though). I forgot to mention I had added UPlay as exemption in the firewall it neither worked, perhaps you should change it to something the UPlay Launcher downloads to see if the issue is the game itself or is something else (in my case, perhaps I should use a VPN to USA and see if it works, the problem is to setup the VPN)
Hey guys, did you manage to solve the issue? I installed the game today and have the same problem. Basically my last ditch-effort is installing this Windows 10 1909 update and then I'll be out of ideas.
Update: Yeah that didn't fix it. I'm out of ideas. Probably my hardware is old and oudated but that doesn't explain this problem and the fact that others are having it too.
It is worth pointing out that not too long ago, Microsoft added some ransomware support to Windows 10 which can interfere with games. Usually, the problem materializes by noticing you can't save progress. This game doesn't really show you the save status, but there is a profile that is stored within your windows profile directory. If ransomware protection is preventing the game from being able to write this profile data, I could see that throwing things out of whack.
Windows "controlled folder access" is an attempt at protecting from ransomware, which will be enabled if you use Microsoft Defender. If you have a 3rd party security provider (like Kaspersky, which I use) then that seems to turn off this feature.
If you are not using a 3rd party security provider, then you might have the controlled folder access turned on. While it shouldn't cause problems, I've seen a number of cases where it was creating a false positive and preventing a legitimate game or app from being able to write to the users profile directory. In those cases, an exception had to be created.
So if you are running windows 10 and Windows Defender is your security provider, it is worth checking to see if controlled folder access is enabled, and it it is to disable it. If the game no longer has problems, then you can either create an exception (best from a security perspective) or disable it (best from a "i just care about my games working" perspective).
Right now I'm downloading The division 2 (I dunno if patch of the whole game again, Uplay didn't mention what is, that or perhaps I have issues focusing in the matter) so I will retry again when it finish downloading, if it fails I will try tcarslisle2012 suggestion, if neither of that works, I hope some Mod can give us a creative solution (right now, I'm open for ideas)
