It may seem trivial, but how a character is inserted into the current situation can add a lot as far as immersion. One thing Wildlands did great was in the games opening scene. It set up the situation, gave you a reason for being there, gave examples of how it was your job to come of with the plan of attack, and then let you go from there.
In Breakpoint I feel a lot of that initial freedom was taken away by having the initial scene of flying in and introducing the nature of the islands defensive/offensive capabilities to us in a very definitive way. For my gameplay I have pretty much ignored that narrative and created my own introduction montage similar to Wildlands and that has allowed me to feel a more organic immersion.
I know there are more important issues to resolve, but I just wanted to provide a little feedback on something small that affected my initial immersion.
