In the Weapon Select screen, we just have a complete list of primary weapons. It would be nice if we could use the L2/R2 buttons to select the different weapon types, i.e. SMG, LMG, etc, so that rather than scrolling through 100 various weapons, we can filter and only see the Assault Rifles, or the Shotguns.

This will be especially useful once you hit the Gear Level cap and start keeping all the weapons that have good stats, not just the ones with the highest gear level.

This is one of the greatest suggestion I have read around here in a while. I really hope the mods pass this up

Yep, at least have us filter by type, like in Wildlands.

By name or bonus would be extra nice to find a specific gun in that huge pile!
